Psychologist Margot Scott has a picture-perfect life: a nice house in the suburbs, a husband, two children and a successful career. On a warm spring morning Margot approaches one of her clients on a busy train platform. He is looking down at his phone, with his duffel bag in hand as the train approaches. That’s when she slams into his back and he falls in front of the train. Margot’s clients all lie to her, but one lie cost her family and freedom.

Story
When Dr. Louis Creed takes a new job and moves his family to the idyllic, rural town of Ludlow, Maine, this new beginning seems too good to be true. Yet despite Ludlow's tranquility, there's an undercurrent of danger that lingers...like the graveyard in the woods near the Creeds' home, where generations of children have buried their beloved pets.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

This is one of the best audio books I've ever listened to. I had watched the movie but it's not half as good as the book. The book goes into way more details, of course that's not possible in a movie time frame. Get this book you won't regret it

The books are not like the show at all so don't order if you think this. The books, at least the first couple are all the back story of the governor.
I was so surprised at how much I truly enjoy TWD books. If you're a fan you really need to listen to the book series.

This is an old book with an old movie made from it, and I think a new version of the old movie as well. With that said, this book started our love of the Zs, and deserves its place and respect in that regard. It's a great listen and fun as well.

I thought this was a made up thriller, which I love to listen to while I work. Once I caught on it was a true story and accounts of little girls being kidnapped and killed I could not stop listening. My heart broke with each passing chapter and...I won't be a spoiler but after listening you will hug your kids a few seconds longer everyday. May this low life POS rot in hell!!!
