I've been waiting for this book to become available in audio for a long time. This is book 4 of the main story line. Each of the books have their own story and are stand alone, but the characters are introduced and appear through the series. It is like visiting family - it is always a fun time. The characters are well developed with their own personality and their own stories. I am not going to "spoil" the book for anyone. You can read the available blurb. The four books make up the entire story line. I have read the ebook and have listened to the audio book several times.

This book/audio does everything a book should - it entertains; it tells a great story; it makes me happy.

Hope you enjoy it too!

Water Witch Audiobook By RJ Blain cover art

This is a key book in the Witch and Wolf World

Water Witch is not a lengthy novel. It is a series of novellas following the main character, Dustin Walker, from when his powers as a water witch emerge through his learning to cope with his new powers, and finding his way forward with these new powers.

This book is important to the entire series because it gives a foundation to other books in the Witch and Wolf world. We are introduced to what it means to be a water witch (at least for Dustin). This understanding plays an important part in other books like Beneath a Blood Moon where an older Dustin plays an important part.

As well, we are introduced to some characters that we see in later novels. We meet Mathew Sander - Dustin’s Uncle, and we Charles and Wendy Desmond – These are recurring characters in many of the Witch and Wolf novels. Sander’s story is told, several years in the future, in the novel Beneath a Blood Moon.

Included with this book is a short story – A Christmas to Remember and Richard - Alpha. This is the story of how Richard and Alex Murphy came to Yellowknife. These characters are regulars in the other Witch and Wolf novels.

I can’t tell you how happy I was when I was reading The Winter Wolf to find Richard and Alex, and Desmond were part of the story.

The stories by themselves are very entertaining but for me they gave that feeling of "coming home" when I recognized the characters in other novels. I had to go back and re-read the other books with that little bit of background information provided in Water Witch.

Playing with Fire was the first book I read from RJ Blain. Burn, Baby, Burn is the 2nd book in the series. Bailey is a strong female character who is willing to fight for what is right; who loves her husband to distraction; who loves and supports her friends. I fell in love with Playing with Fire and I love Burn, Baby, Burn just as much. I have bought all the ebooks in the Mag Rom Com series and as the audio books have come available I have bought them as well. Reading the books are great, but the audio versions bring the stories to life.

I enjoyed listening to the audio book, but there are a couple of comments on the narration.
- First and largest concern is Janet's voice is missing in chapter 18. Hopefully this will be corrected and a new version distributed.
- Second, Nicole Blessing does a good job at the narration, but I really missed Courtney Holly. She did such wonderful voices for Bailey and Quinn. Can still her Quinn growl "Gardiner!"
- Third, if I'm not mistaken Nicole Blessing is not the only narrator. Wesley Nelson does a lot of Quinn's voices. Between these 2 narrators they jump back and forth between Bailey and Quinn's voices, which is good, but there are times that Nicole does a voice for Quinn and times that Wesley does a voice for Bailey. The phone conversations is where I first noticed this. Confusing.

Despite the oddities with the narration, I love the book and give it a 5 star rating. If you are looking for entertainment, with great story line, you will enjoy this book.

I have been working my way through the Dragons of Valdier and now the Sarafin Warriors series. I enjoyed this book so much, I know I will be listening to it again. All the books have been great, but this one just rocked my socks. It was funny, it was intriguing, couldn't wait to see what happened next.

I loved this book. Highly recommend the entire series especially since all the characters are interwoven.

I have the ebook version of this book and have enjoyed it! Very disappointed to find that the audiobook skipped the epilogue. Yes the last chapter ended with a happily ever after, However the epilogue contained the real HEA.
