Story
Philippa Langley reveals the findings of a remarkable new research initiative: ‘The Missing Princes Project'. In the summer of 1483, Edward V (aged 12) and his brother Richard Duke of York (aged 9), disappeared from the Tower of London. For over 500 years, history has judged that they were murdered on the orders of their uncle Richard III. Following years of intensive research in UK, American and European archives, astonishing new archival discoveries have been uncovered that change what we know about the fate of the Princes in the Tower.

Disappointed (Richard 3ed apologist book)
Reviewed: 08-29-24
I think the book was well researched. I believe there is 1 new document. I think all the information gathered is astonishing and well done. The time and toil it took is no doubt daunting. That being said the author seems to be on a mission to clear Richard 3ed of any culpability in the princes deaths. She seems to ask for us to make great leaps to clear R 3ed and states early on in the book that the princes were illegitimate. This is by no means is this so. By the laws in England at the time the so called marriage had no witnesses and anyway it would have had to go before a ecleastical court to be proven either way. That being said she repeats throughout the book of their illigitimacy. Their are many other points i could provide but I don't want to rattle on . I just wish she would have presented the facts and let us make the choice of what to believe. You can't ask us to believe in the some doc. and ignor others.
In the end Richard 3ed was king and ruler at the time of the disappearance of the brothers in the tower. That makes him responsible in one way or another. If he did not kill them he did not protect them either.

Born from young King Henry’s first marriage, his elder daughter, Princess Mary, is raised to be queen once it becomes clear that her mother, Katherine of Aragon, will bear no more children. However, Henry’s passion for Anne Boleyn has a devastating influence on the young princess’s future when, determined to sire a male heir, he marries Anne, has his marriage to Katherine declared unlawful, brands Mary illegitimate, and banishes them both from the royal court.

Not knowing what to expect 😕
Reviewed: 05-30-24
When waiting for book to come out as stated above I didnt know what to expect. Having had a preconceptions about Queen Mary I wasn't sure I would like the book. However, because it was written by Alison Weir ( in my opinion the BEST author of Tutor period ) I was willing to look past my preconceptions. The story was wonderfully told. I found myself seeing things from a very different perspective at times. Even understanding Queen Mary as I have not before. The book definitely opened my eyes as I had not expected.
That being said I can't miss the opportunity to say the narration was spot on.
Overall great book...
