Story
Most of us have had encounters with God time and again, but we often fail to recognize them or allow ourselves to be changed by them. When God meets you, His presence, power, and love should transform your life - forever. Using the compelling biblical accounts of the children of Israel, Ruth, Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, author Priscilla Shirer shows you what happens when you meet God, the obstacles that keep you from changing, and the ways to experience a miraculous transformation in your life.

Story
They were from opposite sides of the tracks: the wealthy Nortons and the working-class Michaels. Yet Gray Norton and Charlie Michaels had become the unlikeliest of best friends, thick as thieves and utterly inseparable. Consumed with guilt after Charlie's untimely death, Gray fled his hometown to work as a doctor in a war zone. But Charlie's demise isn't the only thing that haunts Gray.

Huge Disappointment!
Reviewed: 03-29-22
The storyline was decent & seemingly probable when I read the outline, but that notion was quickly shattered by the Romy the female main character who was so unlikable & terrible in almost every interaction with someone she supposedly loves. I don't know how this book made it to print, I feel duped. Stereo types & reverse racism galore! I am an African American woman that has been happily married to my White husband for 20+years. Also the estranged mother's past job as circus performer was ridiculous. The Narrators were good, especially Will Damron, I don't know how they could stand it though. Save yourself from inevitable disappointment!

Story
The great adventure story tells of Odysseus, a veteran of the Trojan War, who - through a landscape peopled with monsters, sea nymphs, evil enchantresses, and vengeful gods - makes his tortuous way home to his faithful wife, Penelope. Shipwrecked numerous times, faced with apparently insurmountable obstacles, offered the temptations of ease, comfort, and even immortality, Odysseus remains steadfast and determined. Themes of courage and perseverance, fidelity and fortitude.

Good Book, Excellent Narrator; Bad Audio
Reviewed: 10-13-21
Oh, the terror and the joy and the sadness and the heartfelt love for the Odyssey. Such an exquisite perspective (the Robert Fagles translation) on the epic poem of Homer. I would totally recommend this audio translation (by Ian McKellen *chefs kiss*) for school, home and education of the middle-aged youth. Although i must say that the audio cuts out periodically and bugs out, causing a sudden voice change in Ian McKellen; it slighty ruins the quality and preciousness of the Odyssey. Penguin Audio must fix this! This classic is too good for such minor, easily fixable flaws.

Story
Dating to the ninth century BC, Homer’s timeless poem still vividly conveys the horror and heroism of men and gods wrestling with towering emotions and battling amidst devastation and destruction, as it moves inexorably to the wrenching, tragic conclusion of the Trojan War. Renowned classicist Bernard Knox observes in his superb Introduction that although the violence of the Iliad is grim and relentless, it coexists with both images of civilized life and a poignant yearning for peace.

Heavily Abridged (it was never said in the title)
Reviewed: 08-30-21
I'm currently reading this book for school and i'm very disappointed that the translators/narrators would not give any indication that the book was abridged. Large skips including 2 book skips, etc. DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS AUDIO BOOK FOR SCHOOL.

Story
It’s officially booty o’clock, I’m alone again in my kitchen choking down a slice of terrible chocolate cake…and I’m pretty sure I just got drunk texted by the man I have a ginormous crush on. I’ve been daydreaming about Eliot Hoffman’s dimples for two months, and even though I’m sure this was a mistake on his end, it doesn’t mean it’s not an opportunity on mine. It’s the middle of the night, and I just wanna talk to him. So I text him back.

Story
Following the death of her husband, Lady Darby has taken refuge at her sister's estate, finding solace in her passion for painting. But when one of the house guests is murdered, her brother-in-law asks her to aid the insufferable Sebastian Gage - a fellow guest with some experience as an inquiry agent. While Gage is clearly more competent than she first assumed, Kiera isn't about to let her guard down, as accusations and rumors swirl.

Terribly Disappointed!
Reviewed: 06-10-19
The sample that I listened to was the most intriguing scene of the book. Simply characters that were under developed, confused & inconsistent in behavior. I knew who the killer was so early I just couldn't believe the dimwitted questions & the "reasoning" done by the 2 main characters, not to mention the weak reason given at the end. Such a waste, so much so I'm writing my 1st review ever
