Story
In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and many around him, including certain other elected Republican officials, intentionally breached their oath to the Constitution: they ignored the rulings of dozens of courts, plotted to overturn a lawful election, and provoked a violent attack on our Capitol.

She explains Trumps insurrection plans clearly so all Americans can see what we can expect to bear if we’re stupid enough to put him in the White House again

Story
There’s chaos in Hollywood at the end of the New Year’s Eve countdown. Working her graveyard shift, LAPD detective Renée Ballard waits out the traditional rain of lead as hundreds of revelers shoot their guns into the air. Only minutes after midnight, Ballard is called to a scene where a hardworking auto shop owner has been fatally hit by a bullet in the middle of a crowded street party.

You can’t write a novel that takes place during the time of the pandemic without maybe mentioning the pandemic and the precautions taken during the pandemic. Get over it people!
The book was good. The story was interesting. I liked Harry and Rene working together.

My least favorite Grisham book.

Basically after eleven hours there was no ending. At least not in the sense of closure for the story. Very disappointed with the book. Everyone seems to be blaming the narrator but think the story is the real problem.

Story
The number one New York Times best seller by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David McCullough rediscovers an important chapter in the American story that's "as resonant today as ever" (The Wall Street Journal) - the settling of the Northwest Territory by courageous pioneers who overcame incredible hardships to build a community based on ideals that would define our country.

Slow and boring

I’ve read several other books by this author, but I struggled to finish this one. He seemed to zero in more on the slavery issue and less on the pioneers undertaking.
