Story
My name's Griz. I've never been to school, I've never had friends, and in my whole life I've not met enough people to play a game of football. My parents told me how crowded the world used to be, before all the people went away. But we were never lonely on our remote island. We had each other and our dogs. Then the thief came.

Wonderful story!

It was so wonderful to hear a book narrated so perfectly! Having the author narrate allowed the words to flow exactly as they were meant to - no incorrect emphases or using the wrong voice for a character. it was a great story and a great listen!

As a novel-loving person, the longer the better, I was hesitant to listen to this book and only my faith in Diana Gabaldon allowed me to purchase it. I was very pleasantly surprised! It was as wonderful as the rest of the Outlander series and filled in a number of niches that had Previously gone un-elaborated! Thank you once again!!!

Story
The Superpox-99 virus has wiped out nearly the entire human race. Governments have collapsed. Cities have become graveyards filled with unspeakable horror. People have resorted to scavenging from the dead, or taking from the living. The entire industrialized world has become a wasteland of abandoned cars, decaying bodies, and feral animals. To stay alive, U.S. Deputy Marshal Mason Raines must forage for food, water, and gasoline while outgunning those who seek to take advantage of the apocalyptic anarchy. Together with his giant Irish wolfhound, Bowie, he aligns with survivors of the town of Boone in a life and death struggle against a gang of violent criminals. With each deadly encounter, Mason is force to accept his place as one of the nation's few remaining lawmen. In a world now populated by escaped convicts, paranoid mutants, and government hit squads, his only hope to save the townspeople is to enforce his own brand of frontier justice.

Most poorly written book I've ever encountered!
Reviewed: 06-09-19
I enjoy apocalyptic fiction and read it for enjoyment, not in a search for deeper meaning... and yet, even with these low standards, this was hands down the worst story, character development, and even narration that I've heard amongst the literally hundreds of audiobooks I have.

Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

interesting story but not Hunter's best
Reviewed: 05-06-15
The idea for this series is interesting, but not nearly as well written as Hunter's Jane Yellowrock series. This narrator was a disappointment. Her emphasis often did not match the punctuation and structure of the sentences, making them more difficult for the listener to follow. She also mispronounced a number of words and worse, she changed her pronunciation of a couple of words multiple times throughout the course of the book. This was worth listening to at the sale price, but I would have been angry about the purchase had I paid full price or wasted a precious credit on this book.
