Story
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Irritating Heroine
Reviewed: 01-08-24
While the story is exciting and suspenseful, the main character is so negative she spoiled the book. She is stubborn and arrogant while lacking self-confidence and constantly whining about her doubts. Fine in the beginning. Wearisome as time went by. Also, I got very tired listening to the endless repetition of her reactions and bodily symptoms. To make matters worse, the narrator has a very harsh voice that probably made Violet Sorrengail even less likeable. The dragons were intriguing and if it weren't for them, I would have returned the book.

He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Powerful Women Assume their Power
Reviewed: 01-26-20
I had a few moments, not enough to listen to a chapter in the book I'm loving, so I thought I'd peruse my cloud and there were seven free offerings under the title "And Especially You." What the heck, I thought. Within minutes I was enthralled. Women speaking their truth, being vulnerable and real about their lives. I kept saying, "YES!" And ended up with my heart swollen and my eyes tearing as I recognized truth and beauty and the power of authenticity. Thank you Audible for these gifts.

This is more like a theatrical performance of Sacred Spirituality. It is the story of our celestial archetypes, told through myth, stories, ritual, music and invisible dance. It's about self empowerment and subsequent service to the Whole.

Story
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.
