Gigi is no longer an innocent teen. All grown up and looking for love, her family and friends worry she'll go for the sexy, alluring vampire instead of a nice, safe human. But sexy and alluring, with a penchant for biting, could be just what Gigi wants...

Kricket Hollowell never wished upon stars. She was too busy hiding in plain sight, eluding Chicago's foster care system. As her eighteenth birthday approaches, she now eagerly anticipates the day she'll stop running and finally find her place in the world. What a great find!

I bought this book looking for some YA fluff listening. I was pleasantly surprised at the depth the book had. I ended up binge listening to Under Different Stars until the wee hours of the morning.
The love story in the book starts out kind of predictable, but the author is able to add feeling to the ins and out of a rushed attraction forged over a mutual experience. If you enjoy a traditionally structured YA romance, this one will satisfy you!
I additionally appreciated the independent spirit of the main character. She was a tough cookie without being snarky. I loved her character and rooted for Kricket to kick butt the entire way!
