Every story in this collection pulled me in and didn’t let go. Krouse is brilliant and the narrator is well chosen

Remarkable story, beautifully told and read by the author. Unlike anything I’ve ever read in many regards. Will stick with me for a long time.

Loved this book! Narration with caricatured voices for many characters was a distraction from the beautiful writing but I still highly recommend.

Lots of good content but very repetitive in a way that didn’t make it better; felt almost peachy in a way Backman’s books usually avoid.

The always-insightful Dawidoff’s best book to date- weaves together now-too-familiar aspects of structural racism and inequality into a fresh and compelling story that is both intensely personal and tragically American.

This was by far the most suspenseful and action packed story of the series to date, and the fact that I feel I know and am invested in these characters made it all the better to read. Ralph Cosham (the narrator) is also an important part of that experience, and I was so sorry to hear he had passed away shortly after doing this book. Thank you for being such good company during the pandemic, Louise Penny!

This book was amazing and the reader does a wonderful job. My only complaint with it is that every chapter or every 30 minutes in longer chapters there is harmonica music inserted into the book, even when it doesn’t work at all or even goes against the tone and emotion of the book. It’s often really awkwardly inserted and although it works a couple of times to add some emotion throughout the book, the Bast majority of the time it’s just a distraction that makes it hard to move from chapter to chapter. Otherwise, a great listen!
