While this tittle didn't quite get as good as "14" did, it was a solid stand alone story, that did well at giving the readers a little more insight into the world that Clines is writing about. I was quite happy with this book, and it made me excited to see where the 3rd book leads.

Not Crichton's best, but not bad either.

Firstly, I love Crichton's work, and have since I was much younger, and am still excited to read his stuff today. I was really excited about this book, and jumped into it with high hopes. It fell short in some ways, but not enough to make it unenjoyable

The setting for the story is awesome, and the addition of some of the larger than life western icons gave it just enough reality to make it believable. Unfortunately, the story itself somewhat dragged. Perhaps it was just me, and I was expecting too much spaghetti western style adventures that just never showed up. It also seemed like the book never really got started. I was surprised at one point when I looked up and I had listened to over half the book, ad I didn't fee like we'd really gotten into the story yet. The downside to that was that when I finally felt like we were finally getting somewhere, it was nearly over.

I'd recommend this book to anyone who is a huge Crichton fan, but I am not sure that just off the shelf it'd be much fun.

So, I'll admit that I didn't read this book until after the movie came out, and was surprised with how little the book and cinema version have in common. They're absolutely nothing alike, and in most ways, the book comes out on top (I know, that's a huge surprise.)

The story is pretty quick, and keeps your attention all the way through, but I will admit that its the constant sense of nostalgia that really makes this book fun to read or listen to. The book does a good job of keeping old childhood memories at the forefront of your mind.

This is a must read for any video game fan, or anybody born before 1990.

Man, I love this series. Let me start it with that. this book started off strong, and grabbed my attention immediately. Like before, the voice performances were amazing.

My complaint comes near the end of the book. The entire ending seemed very rushed. Almost as though the author was either pressed for time, or got bored with the story. It didn't feel resolved in any real way. In fact there were elements (the two count down timers) that weren't resolved AT ALL. Perhaps this was intentional and play a part in future books. To me, though, it feels like it the ending was rushed together to get the book complete.
