Story
After being stolen from her wealthy German parents and raised in the unforgiving wilderness of eastern Europe, a young woman finds herself alone in 1941 after her kidnapper dies. Her solitary existence is interrupted, however, when she happens upon a group of Jews fleeing the Nazi terror. Stunned to learn what’s happening in the outside world, she vows to teach the group all she can about surviving in the forest—and in turn, they teach her some surprising lessons about opening her heart after years of isolation.

The heroine of the story seems so real as did all the characters with their human foibles and fears.

The reader is fantastic. I was immersed in the story, as if I were living it with the characters.

Story
Lina Meisel, a retired librarian in Florida, is reading the newspaper one morning when she freezes. Her eyes lock on a photograph of a book she hasn’t seen in 65 years - a book she recognizes as The Book of Lost Names. The accompanying article discusses the looting of libraries by the Nazis across Europe during World War II - an experience Lina remembers well - and the search to reunite people with the texts stolen from them so long ago. The book in the photograph is one of the most fascinating cases.

So well read & acted, which adds so much to the story. And what a lot of research this author did to write this story. I’ll never forget this book and these characters!

Story
In Avenging Home, we see how the long-running battle between Morgan's people and their number one nemesis plays out. While Morgan thinks this is the biggest threat they face, there are things on the horizon he cannot yet see that are going to dwarf these problems. Morgan has lived in a vacuum. He's had little information about the outside world. While he's used radios to listen to what he can, there's been precious little real information.

Loved all 7 books!

I hope there is an 8th book because I've become addicted to the story of these brave, resolute bunch of characters. Duke Fontaine does a fantastic job of narrating- his voices for each character are spot-on and he flawlessly transitions from one voice to the other in a dialogue so that you know who is talking.
Just two little quibbles for the author (because I am an incurable romantic)....1) please give Jess a love life in the next book and 2) whatever happened to Eric proposing to Fred with that diamond ring? Did I fall asleep and miss it? Otherwise, what's he waiting for??

Story
The man most hated by the LAPD - a black lawyer who has made his name by bringing lawsuits alleging racism and brutality by police officers - has been found murdered on the eve of a high-profile trial. The list of suspects includes half the police force. And Harry Bosch is the detective chosen to head the investigation. The political dangers of the case are huge. If it's not investigated fairly, the public outcry could make the Rodney King riots look tame. But a full investigation will take Bosch into the ugliest corners of law enforcement.

What made the experience of listening to Angels Flight the most enjoyable?
Good story line, even if not Connolly's best. Will keep the reader intrigued to the very end.
What did you like best about this story?
No suspects till the very end!
Which character – as performed by Burt Reynolds – was your favorite?
Harry Bosch. Burt embodies the voice of Harry as I imagined it when reading all the other Harry Bosch books.
