Story
Anatta is the Buddhist teaching on the nonexistence of a permanent, independent self. It's a notoriously puzzling and elusive concept, usually leading to such questions as, "If I don't have a self, who's reading this sentence?" It's not that there's no self there, says Rodney Smith. It's just that the self that is reading this sentence is a configuration of elements that at one time did not exist and that at some point in the future will disperse.

Unlike any other book

Rodney Smith is one of those rare people that come along once in a lifetime. His gifts were not immediately apparent to me, but as I have aged and have let go of my eager seeking, his words, in particular this book, shine as insights that can only come from source itself combined with sensitivity and a true gift for communicating. This book is one that I put with “I am that” when it comes to so accurately describing awareness and the separate self. That might sound overstated and I realize that.

Critical Race Theory Book

My kids loved the first book. We listen before bed. I was appalled at this book. Her parents were denied a loan from a bank and concluded it was become of racism. I’m Filipino and business owner. That’s absurd. Everyone knows the banks only make business loans to people who don’t really need it. That happens all day everyday of the week. This whole book is trying to plant the seeds in our kids that America is racist. Outrageous. If you don’t work hard, then you’ll go no where. It’s not because someone didn’t like you because you are Asian American. America gave my immigrant parents the chance at a better life.
