A Good Dog Story
Reviewed: 04-17-12
What disappointed you about One Good Dog?
I was not disappointed in the least by this story--excellent story without all the graphic detail that could have been included. I'm very grateful it wasn't because it wasn't needed and would have taken away from the message of the story.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I love Sophie Kinsella and I want something a bit lighter so I'm going with one of her books!
How could the performance have been better?
Nothing could have been improved upon.
What character would you cut from One Good Dog?
Can't think of one.

Story
Lisbeth Salander—the heart of Larsson’s two previous novels—lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish city hospital. She’s fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she’ll be taken back to Stockholm to stand trial for three murders. With the help of her friend, journalist Mikael Blomkvist, she will not only have to prove her innocence, but also identify and denounce those in authority.

Great Story!

I read the first two books in this trilogy and so when I listened to this one I found all the different characters a little hard to follow but the story was so enthralling that it didn't matter!

This was a dark but enlightening book about the witch trials in Mass. The narration was very good and the author told a fascinating story.

Story
It all began with a simple seaside vacation, a brother and sister recapturing their childhood. Antoine Rey thought he had the perfect surprise for his sister Mélanie's birthday: a weekend by the sea at Noirmoutier Island, where the pair spent many happy childhood summers playing on the beach. It had been too long, Antoine thought, since they'd returned to the island—over thirty years, since their mother died and the family holidays ceased. But the island's haunting beauty triggers more than happy memories.

Story
Returning to the territory he so brilliantly explored in his masterful New York Times best seller American Gods, the incomparable Neil Gaiman offers up a work of dazzling ingenuity, a kaleidoscopic journey deep into myth that is at once startling, terrifying, exhilarating, and fiercely funny, a true wonder of a novel that confirms Stephen King's glowing assessment of the author as "a treasure house of story, and we are lucky to have him."
