Story
Toad, the famous character in Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows, is in a very depressed state and his good friends Rat, Mole, and Badger, are worried that he might do something silly. "Now look here, Toad, this can go on no longer," Badger said sternly. "You must have counseling!" Robert de Board's engaging account of Toad's experience of counseling will capture the imagination of the growing audience of people interested in counseling and the counseling process. Written as a real continuation of life on the River Bank, Toad and his friends come to life all over again.

Love the narration, and the story is forced, but actually doesn't feel forced even for second. It's just straight up great content, an effective pass at a range of concepts that left me uplifted and with plenty to think about.

Story
Plenty of experts argue that anyone who wants to develop a skill, play an instrument, or lead their field should start early, focus intensely, and rack up as many hours of deliberate practice as possible. But a closer look at research on the world’s top performers shows that early specialization is the exception, not the rule. David Epstein examined the world’s most successful athletes, artists, musicians, inventors, forecasters and scientists. He discovered that in most fields—especially those that are complex and unpredictable—generalists, not specialists, are primed to excel.

Holy smokes where did that come from, Agatha? Even though she herself agrees with critics that Poroit was unnecessary, I didn't mind him at all. And just...woo. I loved the whole thing. This definitely wouldn't have been possible early on in Christie's career. Well worth listening to if you're interested in humans.

Classic Christie. Just the right mix of ridiculousness while always moving forward. I actually think this was her most humorous work, too. She had me cracking up rather frequently. Awesome performance by Fraser.

I would argue that the audio book experience for LOTR is more uniquely special than pretty much any other that I can think of. Why? Because of the songs and poetry and stories. Reading? Not the same. Movies? Non-factor.
For this reason and many more, if you've read the books or seen the movies or both, it is still ABSOLUTELY worth it to listen to this incredible recording. Seriously. Just do it.
