Story
In Not Becoming My Mother, Ruth Reichl embarks on a clear-eyed, openhearted investigation of her mother's life, piecing together the journey of a woman she comes to realize she never really knew. Looking to her mother's letters and diaries, Reichl confronts the painful transition her mother made from a hopeful young woman to an increasingly unhappy older one and realizes the tremendous sacrifices she made to make sure her daughter's life would not be as disappointing as her own.

Drats! I wish I had seen that this is not even 2 hours long. I hadn’t even finished my list of “to do’s” and it was over. I enjoy Ruth’s books very much. Many of the stories in this are already told in her other books but the insights into who her mother was, are worth reading - because I see much of me in her. I must work on that.

Story
A riveting novel in which old friends must excavate the formative event of their childhood - a murder - and determine how to pit truth against justice. Hutch Van Buren is 15 years old, playing sports and searching for arrowheads in a small industrial town in Ohio with his three closest friends when an altercation between the comrades and Petey Sanchez, a troubled 17-year-old, leads to Petey’s accidental death. Together, Hutch and his friends become ensnared in a web of secrets and moral dilemmas.

Great to the end.

The story kept moving and had interesting, plausible plot twists up to the end. I am reading another of his books now. The narrator had a pleasant voice and did great with character voices. My favorite was the voice of the protagonist's assistant. Great story. Wish it was a series ... maybe it is? I'll need to check.

Story
Fear is the devil's favorite tool in the toolbox of schemes he uses to destroy God's good plan for you. He uses it to hold you back and prevent progress in your relationships, career, and more. In Do It Afraid, Joyce Meyer explains that fear is everywhere and affects everyone. It rules many people, but it doesn't have to rule you any longer.

Couldn’t finish it

Joyce Meter is great but I couldn’t listen to this. Her voice is really difficult to listen to. I wish she had someone else read the book. Sorry!
