Story
1983. The US nuclear submarine USS Roanoke embarks on a classified spy mission into Soviet waters. Their goal: to find evidence of a new, faster, and deadlier Soviet submarine that could tip the balance of the Cold War. But the Roanoke crew isn't alone. Something is on board with them. Something cunning and malevolent. Trapped in enemy territory and hunted by Soviet submarines, tensions escalate and crew members turn on each other. When the lights go out and horror fills the corridors, it will take everything the crew has to survive the menace.

This was my first exposure to these authors. It was quite an enjoyable tale. I could have used a little less profanity but it WAS about sailors, after all. I look forward to reading more from Kent and Kaufman.

One of his best

Would you listen to Duma Key again? Why?
I already DID. I listened twice within a couple of weeks AND I'd already read it once before!
What did you like best about this story?
Character development (as usual) and the subtle foreshadowing.
What does John Slattery bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His voice had the range and emotion to make the characters real - and eerie in some cases :)
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Some gifts should be shunned

Story
In Israel and the West, it is called the Six Day War. In the Arab world, it is known as the June War or, simply, as "the Setback". Never has a conflict so short, unforeseen, and largely unwanted by both sides so transformed the world. The Yom Kippur War, the war in Lebanon, the Camp David accords, the controversy over Jerusalem and Jewish settlements in the West Bank, the intifada, and the rise of Palestinian terror are all part of the outcome of those six days.

Accurate and concise...riveting detail

Would you listen to Six Days of War again? Why?
I plan to listen again in the near future. The book had so many rich details that I'm sure I might have missed something the first go round. The story took an event from my childhood and made it a living breathing "happening just now" sort of drama.
What does Robert Whitfield bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Mr Whitfield's voice and accent gave the piece an air of authority - as though the story were being related by a journalist or even a government official.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Distrust, Disunity, DISASTER!
Any additional comments?
I'm anxious to read more from Michael Oren
