Ive always loved Mike Gayles work and this book is typical of his work.
The story is as usual very easy going, and deals with normal aspects of life (in this case the ups and downs of hen / stag parties).
Saying that this book is different to many of his other works, normally his books are very male sided views on relationships etc, but this one seems to get both genders equally, i suspect that he may have had help from female friends.
The book starts of on the stag night and approx half way though steps back in time then goes to the hen night.
This book though sadly didnt have the humor (very british humor) in the quantities as his other works but was still very enjoyable.
The readers of this book were very good, both the readers done very passable accents for the required people.

Mike Gayle is in my mind a Male Helen Fielding (Bridget Jones) - if you like her sort of books you will love Mikes books, I just wish his best book Mr Commitment was released in unabridged audio.

I dont often write review, but this book has just cost me two nights sleep, i could not stop listening to it.
The story construction was excellent, it really got the grey matter turning..
That said its not the typical Stephen King novel, horror was lacking which is a breath of fresh air.
Stephen King just shows what a truely great story teller he really is in this very long but highly enjoyable book.

This is the first time ive listened to the narrator, Craig Wasson was perfect, i now rate him among the best and will be looking for more titles he reads,
thankyou thankyou thankyou, now for some catch up sleep...

I read this book many years ago and fell in love with it, still now it holds that wow element.
George Wilson is perfect narrator for this book - his way of reading made returning to this book that little bit more special.
I remember the first time i read it and how mind boggled i was trying to understand the concept of distant travel and the effects it would have on earth, and now im still thinking about it.
Joe Haldeman made a true classic scifi book here, if you love scifi then you have to give this book a listen,
I just wish they would record the third in the series - forever free

I decided to give this book ago after reading up on the book. It looked promising.
The book started well then went down hill very quickly.
I found it very drawn out and overly long - the layout of the story was also very confusing at times with too many paper thin charactors.
The plot seems to jump all over the place which made the book painful to listen to.
I really wanted to like this book but im sure it will now end up in my libary gathering dust.
The ideas were very good but i think the author just couldnt pull this one together as a thriller, infact its one of those books that you cannot help but let your mind wander making it even more confusing.
The reader done a good job with the material, if i was reading the wood pulp version im sure i would have quit it.
This book maybe good as a abridgement, as unabridged its around 30 hrs too long.
