Will Wheaton gives a stellar performance for what turns out to be everything Ernest Cline wasn't able to squeeze into Ready Player One. The plot meanders around a new *groan* game from Halloway which offers further insight to his personality and what was probably the most incel-centric manner. The pacing is clunky, the characters are flat, the writing is well done drew. The story works between Parz3val"s obvious lack of knowledge of women and Halloway's creation and the attempt is obvious and almost painful.

Novak's writing flows so effortlessly that I can't feel but want more. The conclusion of this series kept me listening well into the night and cursing the need for sleep. The worldbuilding, story and characters are excellently brought to life by Dadia's perfect pitch flushing out every detail and voice with precision and eloquence. I haven't anything but praise for this work.

This was excellently constructed and executed. A mad dash story that had enough twists to keep me guessing until the end.

First, I need to say that Luke Daniels did a phenomenal job reading this. Not once did his level of performance wane, and I honestly listened to the book all the way through just because of his enthusiasm and ability to shift into characters.

That said... This wasn't for me. Without ruining the plot, I'll just say that I didn't much care for the protagonist as a person, I found the hand-waving of plot devices annoying after a while, and the antagonist was... well, they were an antagonist alright... just not one that I found all that compelling.

Worst thing was trying to understand the character motivations: Either they were sidestepped or seemed rather flat, and that's if they made sense. Three characters (I won't specify who) I found incomprehensible. I kept wanting to tell them to just DO something else.

In all, the premise is interesting, but the execution was lacking. I didn't really care if the protagonist won, didn't completely disagree with the antagonist (even though Mr. Daniels made him thoroughly unlikable with his excellent narration), and felt that a few of the side characters were painfully dull. Philip was really what kept me listening, and even his actions towards the end were bewildering. The use of anachronism became less fun as the story progressed, so if you're thinking Ready Player One here, think again. Not that RPO didn't have it's issues as well, but that was far and above this work in just about every sense.
