Story
"For many days we had been tempest-tossed...the raging storm increased in fury until on the seventh day all hope was lost." So begins this delightful adventure story. The Robinson family, a Swiss pastor, his wife, and four sons, will emerge alive from this terrible storm, bringing to land two dogs and a shipload of livestock: hens, pigeons, and geese.

Story
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Profound respect
Reviewed: 11-28-16
More moving than I expected. I like Trevor Noah's take on the Daily Show because he has an outsider prospective. I've had that before and respect it, we need more of it. But I was totally blown away by the depth of his statements on race and culture. I liked him before as a comedian. I now have profound respect for him as a person.

Story
From tales of chivalrous knights to the barbarity of trial by ordeal, no era has been a greater source of awe, horror, and wonder than the Middle Ages. In handsomely crafted prose and with the grace and authority of his extraordinary gift for narrative history, William Manchester leads us from a civilization tottering on the brink of collapse to the grandeur of its rebirth, the Renaissance.

Not inspiring

The book's structure was disjointed at best, and the history generic. Magellan was the most interesting part.

It's a good story and sets up Singapore quite well, but I would've liked more family history, more history of Singapore and more character development
