Not in the Plan is a satisfying blend of poignant and fun. Charlie and Mack each undergo an emotionally taxing, though beautiful journey over the course of this story yet there are so many flashes of humor and sweetness along the way that the narrative keeps a warm, comforting feel throughout. They are both wonderfully rich and authentic characters who fit into a realistic world of work, friendships, and family in such a way that the listener feels like their part of the story too. The romance is definitely one of opposites attracting but their connection builds organically and believably until it’s impossible to imagine Charlie and Mack ending up anywhere but together.

The narrator does a solid job of bringing Charlie and Mack and the other characters to life in an engaging and entertaining way.

Don’t let the cute cover fool you! This is a poignant and beautiful romance that still has flashes of humor and heaps of steam. Miranda and Tori have an entertaining grumpy/sunshine dynamic that slowly but gorgeously blossoms into a strong and passionate connection as each character grows with the help of community and two adorable little girls: Miranda’s niece Rebel and Tori’s daughter Harley. The path to love is anything but straight for these two, but it is sweet and deeply satisfying.

Quinn Riley’s narrative portrayal of two very different women is lovely: exciting, stirring, and hot in all the right places.

Ashley and Caitlyn are the last people who should fall in love, but the attraction that sizzles between them every time they’re in the same room is irresistible.

A lot of romances have this trope, but Devil’s Advocate makes it fresh and entertaining with two complex characters with opposite backgrounds who still connect on many different levels, both physical and romantic. The setting of a cutthroat law firm with a high-profile case adds to the tension, and the two characters’ family lives deepen the emotional impact of the story.

Angela Dawe’s nuanced and engaging narration makes Devil’s Advocate shine even brighter.
