Story
The 1920s in Paris are the pivotal years in Hemingway's apprenticeship as a writer, whether sitting in cafés or at the feet of Gertrude Stein. These are the heady times of the Nick Adams short stories, Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, and the writing of The Sun Also Rises. These are also the years of Hemingway's first marriage to Hadley Richardson, the birth of his first son, and his discovery of the bullfights at Pamplona.

Too fast!!

How did the narrator detract from the book?
The narrator reads so fast that sometimes it seems he's about to lose his breath... which is very distracting from the the story.

Story
F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic American novel of the Roaring Twenties is beloved by generations of readers and stands as his crowning work. This new audio edition, authorized by the Fitzgerald estate, is narrated by Oscar-nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal (Brokeback Mountain). Gyllenhaal's performance is a faithful delivery in the voice of Nick Carraway, the Midwesterner turned New York bond salesman, who rents a small house next door to the mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby....

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes! Besides being a great story by one of my favorite authors, the narration of this audiobook by Jake Gyllenhaal is absolutely wonderful!
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Great Gatsby?
The final chapters with all the feverish dialogues, from the time the main characters are in the hotel room in the city, culminating with the tragic end.
Have you listened to any of Jake Gyllenhaal’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This was my first... I would love to find more audiobooks read by Gyllenhaal.

Story
A sensational best seller when it appeared in 1986, The Garden of Eden is the last uncompleted novel of Ernest Hemingway, which he worked on intermittently from 1946 until his death in 1961. Set on the Côte d'Azur in the 1920s, it is the story of a young American writer, David Bourne, his glamorous wife, Catherine, and the dangerous, erotic game they play when they fall in love with the same woman.

Published posthumously in 1964, A Moveable Feast remains one of Ernest Hemingway's most beloved works. It is his classic memoir of Paris in the 1920s, filled with irreverent portraits of other expatriate luminaries such as F. Scott Fitzgerald and Gertrude Stein; tender memories of his first wife, Hadley; and insightful recollections of his own early experiments with his craft.
