A refreshing revisit of a presidential celebrated in his time but slandered by 20th century historians. Grant is a president that dearly needed and deserves this glorious rehabilitation. As always Chernow is the master of bringing to light figures whome posterity should remember. While very long Grant is an extremely worthwhile endeavor.

This book about a seemingly simple concept proved to be a wonderful learning experience. I would recommend this book to anyone who was interested in the world around them and history of science. Both accessible to non technical types and conceptually challenging this book was a great learning experience.

loved learning about a figure whom history has forgotten and who's illumination is refreshing. like a great many seemingly small players in history the British consol in Charleston played a pivotal roll in events that some would think above his pay grade. but, this is where the most interesting stories are told in the shadows not the light of day.

Bad Blood is an essential must read for understanding the twisted nexus of money and power in silicon valley. A story so sweeping it must be heard to be believed. John Carreyrou's tail of how a company found the right backers to bully almost any critic into submission through threats of legal ruin. Hearing this story will allow you to understand how frauds can be maintained through the use of our current legal apparatus. I can not recommend this book enough!
