Story
A memoir of unblinking honesty and poignant, laugh-out-loud humor, Blackout is the story of a woman stumbling into a new kind of adventure - the sober life she never wanted. For Sarah Hepola, alcohol was "the gasoline of all adventure". She spent her evenings at cocktail parties and dark bars where she proudly stayed till last call. But there was a price. Publicly, she covered her shame with self-deprecating jokes, and her career flourished, but as the blackouts accumulated, she could no longer avoid a sinking truth.

Story
For eight years, Sheriff David Reichert devoted days and nights to capturing the Green River Killer - the most notorious serial killer in American history. He was the first detective on the case in 1982 and doggedly pursued it as the body count climbed to 49 and it became the most infamous unsolved case in the nation. Frantically following all leads, even as more bodies surfaced near the river outside Seattle, Sheriff Reichert befriended the victims' families, publicly challenged the killer, and risked his own safety - and the endurance and love of his family - before he found his madman.

If you could sum up Chasing the Devil in three words, what would they be?
The book was excellently written and well-narrated. The content of the book is about as dark as you can go. People who are called upon to serve usually live difficult lives, and Sheriff Reichert's life and many others were changed forever. The audiobook includes recorded interrogations with two killers. You can sense the evil while listening and its truly disturbing.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Sheriff David Reichert and team.
What about Dennis Boutsikaris’s performance did you like?
Excellent, as if he was Reichert himself telling the story.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The families of the victims on the day of sentencing.
Any additional comments?
God bless Sheriff David Reichert and the rest of the brotherhood.

Story
Pistol is more than the biography of a ballplayer. It's the stuff of classic novels: the story of a boy transformed by his father's dream and the cost of that dream. Even as Pete Maravich became Pistol Pete, a basketball icon for baby boomers, all the Maraviches paid a price. Now acclaimed author Mark Kriegel has brilliantly captured the saga of an American family: its rise, its apparent ruin, and, finally, its redemption.

Story
By all appearances, Fieldy had the life. But he was on the dark path of excess, alienating friends, families, and loved ones, nearly destroying himself and the band. It took an unexpected tragedy to straighten him out: the death of his father, a born-again Christian, to a mysterious illness. Following his father's dying wish, Fieldy found God. Filled with the spirit of his new faith, Fieldy quit drugs and drinking cold turkey, and found the best part of himself.

Reviewed: 11-23-14
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Fieldy is a natural leader, and you get a intimate preview how his motivation and passion were corrupted by drugs and ego. The book was interesting especially when they were trying to break through (early years). You like Fieldy and then you despise him just as he said we would. The book is an autobiography so nothing should be changed.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
His motivation and passion and the amount of luck they had putting a band together like Korn. His motivation and endurance to make it to the top. Everything was interesting.
Would you listen to another book narrated by William Dufris?
Yeah, you have to wonder if Fieldy has a lisp too.
Any additional comments?
Good read.

Love Life serves up another delicious selection of intimate stories and observations from Rob Lowe's life, told with humor, warmth, and brutal honesty. After writing his acclaimed debut effort, Lowe felt he had more stories to share and many more friends to introduce. The result is a touching memoir about the business and craft of acting, the pitfalls of success, family, love, and much more.
