I finished the book in record time. It moves fast. Today, I am still thinking about her life and those who worked to save her during and after the war.

Story
Like Anne Frank, Flory Van Beek was a young girl caught in the ruthless Nazi occupation of Holland. But Flory survived to recount her extraordinary story of persecution and survival. Flory and her husband, Felix, endured the sinking of a ship bound for safety in the New World, the increasing danger of the occupation, and finally a life in hiding. This inspiring account vividly captures the terror of the Holocaust while telling a poignant story of love and courage.

This is a skillfully written story about the brave people in Holland who risked their lives to help Flory (and thousands more all over the country). It pulled me in quickly. I had a difficult time putting the book down. I’ll never forget Flory.

This book pulled me into the story. The horrors and the atrocities of the Jewish people during WWll are told from the point of view of a young man. Beyond the Tracks captures historical events into a suspenseful non-fiction tale that was hard to put down.
