A Good Read Only If Fan of Fox News & Murdocks

I have listend to two of Michael Wold's book and am a fun. Fail is a good read but only if one is a fan of Fox News, Trump or the Murdocks. Fans will recognize the thousands of names referrenced in this book. Without these referents the book did not hold my attention. Wolf is a good writer with a good sense or humor. Trumps and the Murdock's should go on a picnic together and call it the new Twilight Zone or as Wolf imples a "parallel univere." Hopefully they would invite Ailes, Hanratty and Carlson who are often presented as "batshit crazy." Those that are regular viewers of Fox News will find thies book more interesting, despite the fact that Wolf, as usual, present a very honest appraisal.

If you familiar with this time frame and Kennedy administration, you will not likely find anything new More just a straightfoward chronological history, nothing really indepth about the personalities , dispositions or motivation of the people in "Camelots Court." Heavey emphais on Cuba and Vietnam, but you did not get the feeling you were actually there while the decision were being made.Narrator has a pleasant voice, but does not infuse the book with any energy, emotion, tension, or passion.

Narrator Leaves a Lot to be Desired

I have read or listen to every John Greshem book
Could not get through this one due to the narration
The narrator is unable to capture southern accents, age differences or character differences
His attempt to capture a a souther woman in her 30's, a dominant character, sounded like some type of cartoon monster
Vocal characterization of the deputy sheriff left a lot be desired.
Publisher really needed to get a female to do the female voices and a narrator capable of doing a southern acccent to enhance the authenticity of the book
Some other reviews seemed to like the narrator, it really grated on my sensibilities and I had to stop listening.
Very dissapointing!

Rather difficult to make one of the more dramatic political scandals in American history dull, but the author succeeds admirably. /The narrator reminds me of being in a public speaking course in college, where some students would memorize their presentations and bore us to tears. In fairness, even a great narrator could not save this book "Your pillow will need a pillow."

No sure how you can make a book about LBJ hard to listen to, but Goodwin succeeds. Does not provide much backstage insight into American politics, reads and sounds like her dissertation to much of the time. Too much psycho-analysis. Gee you have to think that in LBJ's career there must of been some humorous experiences along the way, few and far between in this book. I was to purchase the book on Lincoln called Team of Rivals, but than I saw if was 41 hours and authored by Goodwin, would certainly want to listen to a sample chaper.

An interesting backstage look at political strategy during an important period in American history. Buchanon is a good story teller.
