Crass and Vulgar Guest
Reviewed: 06-30-22
It's hard for me to understand how this guy Kiyosaki has become so rich. He's poorly spoken, crass and vulgar. His views on politics and admiration for Trump are disgusting. On the plus side if a moron like this can do it then obviously anyone can. So maybe I will read his book. On a more compassionate note, maybe this guy Robert Kiyosaki is suffering dementia or Alzheimers, If so I apologize for my criticism.

Story
The United States is becoming a nation of rich and poor, with few families in the middle. In this book, MIT economist Peter Temin offers an illuminating way to look at the vanishing middle class. Temin argues that American history and politics, particularly slavery and its aftermath, play an important part in the widening gap between rich and poor. Temin employs a well-known, simple model of a dual economy to examine the dynamics of the rich/poor divide in America.

This is the king of stuff I usually only hear the radical left talk about and have for years. A little elementary at times but otherwise some good info. I didn't care for the narration, sounded pretty pablum to me. I have usually heard this kind of thing expressed with more emotion ; this guy sounds like he's reading a high school term paper. Anyway this is the kind of book everyone should hear. I recommend.

I'm sorry but this was a terrible narrator. Sounds like she could be an automaton, robot or AI. When she switches to a male character it's downright embarrassing. Would have been a lot better if they could have gotten someone to impersonate Trump's distinct nasally whine. Great reporting from Phil and Carol as usual. I really wish the authors would consider reading their own work! Also I wish the authors would consider interviewing some Trump supporters. Although I personally will never join their ranks, I sure would like to know why so many people support him. Perhaps in a future book.

Michael Every, Global Strategist at Rabobank, thinks that may indeed be the case. From his perspective, the geopolitical world order is Balkanizing – a process started before, but dramatically exacerbated, by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. I didn't care for the narration but David Cay Johnson's research and writing is well done as always. I truly don't know what it is that people see in Trump. To me he's a liar, theif and cheat as this book so meticulously chronicles.

This historical fiction reads like literature. Very well written and performed. I really enjoyed the period English although one does have to work a little harder to understand it. As someone who lives in Sacramento and has been to Sutters Fort it's hard to believe this story took place only 100 years before I was born. What an incredible story.
