The Narrator Ruins an Okay, Boring Story
Reviewed: 06-24-25
I wish I had not purchased this book. It needs an editor. The story itself is difficult to follow and the narrator is horrible, I could not finish this book. Ugh

Story
Beth and her gentle, kind husband Frank are happily married, but their relationship relies on the past staying buried. But when Beth’s brother-in-law shoots a dog going after their sheep, Beth doesn’t realize that the gunshot will alter the course of their lives. For the dog belonged to none other than Gabriel Wolfe, the man Beth loved as a teenager—the man who broke her heart years ago. Gabriel has returned to the village with his young son Leo, a boy who reminds Beth very much of her own son, who died in a tragic accident.

Child Abuse

This story is primarily focused on the child abuse of three young girls growing up in an abusive foster care home. It is hard to stomach. No real mystery here just lots of abuse.

Flat Narration with Zero Storyline
Reviewed: 04-30-25
Wow. This book was a massive disappointment and a wasted credit. I listened to a previous book by this author that was very good and thought I would try another one. Zero storyline, flat narration. Seems to be about nothing.
