Story
For three years, Detective Jude Fontaine was kept from the outside world. Held in an underground cell, her only contact was with her sadistic captor, and reading his face was her entire existence. Learning his every line, every movement, and every flicker of thought is what kept her alive. After her experience with isolation and torture, she is left with a fierce desire for justice - and a heightened ability to interpret the body language of both the living and the dead.

Anne Frasier DoesIt Again - Only Beter
Reviewed: 07-16-16
What made the experience of listening to The Body Reader the most enjoyable?
The story had me hooked from the very beginning. Don't start this at night. Just five more minutes turns into hours.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Body Reader?
The entire story is memorable. Any one moment would spoil the outcome.
Have you listened to any of Emily Sutton-Smith’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I haven't listened to Emily Sutton-Smith before, but I have listened to all of Anne's previous books. Emily is the best reader so far.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Psychological thriller. I picture someone like Jennifer Lawrence playing Jude.
Any additional comments?
My favorite Anne Frasier book (so far). Hopefully, this will be a series.

Story
The good news is that public defender Summer Neuwirth just won her first case, which involved a brutal rape and kidnapping. As Summer pursues her next case, this time to keep an innocent woman off death row, elements of that past--a mysterious case of childhood amnesia, her police officer father's involvement with a serial killer, a terrifying attack she survived just months earlier--entwine with her present legal work, her missing mother, and her rocky relationship with a private investigator, all of which culminate in a thrilling trial... and terror.

The Fun Continues
Reviewed: 06-16-14
What did you love best about Pistols & Pies: Sweet Bites, Book 2?
The characters are fun and likeable. The story doesn't have the usual absurd twists that seem to be cropping up lately.
What other book might you compare Pistols & Pies: Sweet Bites, Book 2 to and why?
Several years ago I started a food themed series. I think the author was Diane Mott Davidson. As the series progressed, the supporting characters were muddled. I hope this series keeps the same focus.
Which character – as performed by Pamela Almand (The Captain's Voice) – was your favorite?
Of course the heroine is my favorite but I would like to see more of the paramedic.
Any additional comments?
I look forward to continuing the series.

Terrific Series - Just Keeps Getting Better.
Reviewed: 06-05-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend the first four books of the series. If a series can keep me interested through four books I will definitely recommend it.
What other book might you compare The Advocate's Dilemma to and why?
I would compare them to the earlier books of Patricia Cornwell. Teresa Burrell's characters are interesting and likeable. I hope she can keep it up. I wore out on Cornwell's characters and started to dislike the whole group.
Have you listened to any of Laurel Schroeder’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Only in the Advocate series.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Each book in the series is better than the last. The investigator's "isms" make me laugh.

I Am Hooked on this Series.
Reviewed: 05-28-14
Would you listen to The Advocate's Conviction again? Why?
As with most mystery/thrillers it probably doesn't warrant a second listen. I am ready for the next one in the series.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I listened to the entire recording in a 24 hour period.
Which scene was your favorite?
The interactions between Sabre, Bob and JP are fun.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I felt sorry for Mama T.
Any additional comments?
The series involves the Juvenile Court system. It's a bit of fresh air from the barrage of legal thrillers and courtroom dramas.

Biking from Oregon to Maine is no small feat, especially for two newly retired women who carry everything they need for three months, powered only by the strength of their legs and a desire for adventure. Alice Honeywell and Bobbi Montgomery invite listeners to follow their ride by bicycle across the United States, as they face scorching sun, driving rain, buffeting winds, equipment failures, killer hills, wild fires, and even a plague of grasshoppers.

Would you try another book from Alice Honeywell and Bobbi Montgomery and/or Rosemary Benson?
If Alice and Bobbi write the book for the proposed north south trip I would like to listen to it. Hopefully Rosemary will narrate this one too.
Which scene was your favorite?
Not just once scene. I enjoyed listening to their entire trip - especially their separate thoughts at the end.
Was Across America by Bicycle worth the listening time?
Yes. I finished it in two days. I see that another reviewer said the book was boring and that he/she kept waiting for something to happen. This was a book about a life experience, not CSI or Fifty Shades of Gray. This is a story about two wonderful women in their 50s who plan a trip for two years and then ride 3,600 miles across the U.S. in 90 days. Thank you Alice and Bobbi for sharing your story.
Any additional comments?
I really liked the narrator, Rosemary Benson. I plan to look for other books narrated by her.
