A great foundation for the world with interesting premise. Narrator does a great job as well. If you like Dungeons and Battle Royales, you're in for a treat

Story
Nathan's life was defined by labs and lectures until an Archmage yanked him into Davrar and made him a tantalizing offer: master magic in exchange for Earth's scientific secrets. Yet, Nathan can't shake off the feeling that darker truths lurk beneath such promises. The world of Davrar is a dangerous place teeming with dungeons and monsters–ruled by levels, Talents, and a near-infinite progression of power. Nathan will need to rely on himself to survive, forging alliances and taking every advantage he can get against those that seek to control him.

Fun Science Magic

I really enjoyed the hyperfocus on science. It was a bit like a mesh between Dr Stone and Black Clover. Lot's of great concepts and the author does a phenomenal job of breaking down hard to understand information about science and complex mathematics into something digestible even for someone like me.

Story
When Matt Westin opens his eyes, he’s back on Earth—and seven years younger than when he went to sleep. For the last seven years, Matt and his sister, Jen, along with friends Carl and Blake, have been in the fantasy world of Cyraveil, revolutionaries fighting to overthrow a dictatorial empire. Now, they’ve suddenly returned to their quiet Oregon suburb, where they’re expected to go to high school and act like normal American teenagers. But after all this time, and with the memory of war so fresh in their minds, how can they pretend to be kids again?

Amazing character work. I loved all three narrators and I think they really brought a lot of charm to each of their characters.

These characters are so freaking endearing

Seriously. I don't usually read that much. The long form story telling g that books love to indulge is not my cup of tea. In fact, the only reason why I read this book is because my friend insisted.
I'm glad he did though, because this book has some of the most genuine characters I have ever read. You genuinely care for them and want to see them succeed. Im fact, this is so strong that even when the book stumbles a little bit in it's pacing, you don't care.
There are definitely unearned pay offs and clunky characters introductions that another draft before release could have fixed, but the author does such a masterful job of developing these characters that you can forgive him for these slight missteps. Definitely worth a read.
