Alienating half the country isn’t a smart move.
On a side note. Covid is a thing that happened. But nobody wants to hear about it ever again…. Unless is reports about indictments of government officials and pharmaceutical employees for corruption. Stop putting it in story’s.

Story
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Pyre is a volatile planet. Its surface belches heat and noxious gases, forcing downsiders to inhabit domes. But Pyre's instability isn't limited to its geology. The colonists, who were marooned in the system hundreds of years ago, have endured a tumultuous history. Exploring Triton, Pyre's third moon, spacers inadvertently activate an alien dome. Nearly a year later, the Belle's bridge crew, who monitors the alien site, is alarmed, when they witness a bright blue light shoot from the dome's platform and merge with the shield.

I enjoy S.H Jucha’s books Immensely. Silver ships is a masterpiece. I was over joyed to find out about this connecting side series.
Grover Gardner is exceptional, his performance narrating the silver ships series enhances those books to another level.
Nicole Poole’s narration of Empaths was almost unlistenable. Her robotic cadence and randomly changing tones used for characters was amateurish. All I can do is pray she was replaced for book 2 of this series. Poole should never be allowed to read out loud to anyone ever again
