Story
Kat Finn and her mother can barely make ends meet living among humans. Like all vampires, they must drink Hema, an expensive synthetic blood substitute, to survive, as nearly all of humanity has been infected by a virus that’s fatal to vampires. Kat isn’t looking forward to an immortal life of barely scraping by, but when she learns she’s been accepted to the Harcote School, a prestigious prep school that’s secretly vampires-only, she knows her fortune is about to change.

DNF. The characters were deliberately dense.

I LOVED IT

I wish more queer stories were like this, where yeah they're gay but there's also more to the story, they have stuff they gotta do that's not just about their romance and it makes it feel so much better to read a fantasy story where bad stuff happens not because they are lesbians

Story
After years of bickering, Penny and Tate have called a truce: they’ll play nice. They have to. Their mothers (life-long best friends) need them to be perfect, drama-free daughters when Penny’s mother becomes a living liver donor to Tate’s mom. Forced to live together as the Moms recover, the girls’ truce is essential in keeping everything—their jobs, the house, the finances, the Moms’ healing—running smoothly. They’ve got to let this thing between them go. There’s one little hitch: Penny and Tate keep almost kissing.

the story was amazing! my only issue was that for some reason the reader would start getting really quiet and it would be hard to hear then she'd start yelling making it too loud. other than that absolutely phenomenal story
