Story
On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

So awesome that this is a live recording
Reviewed: 09-11-19
I love that this is a recording of sessions from a seminar and not someone reading the book (which is fine too). You really get the power and authenticity of the message when you hear it from Brene just talking to people. The content of course is life changing and world changing. Listen well.

It's Harry Potter read by an excellent voice performance from Jim Dale. I don't particularly care that much for book 2 in the series, but it is still excellent nonetheless.

All good things must come to an end, Constant Listener, and not even Stephen King can write a story that goes on forever. The tale of Roland Deschain's relentless quest for the Dark Tower has, the author fears, sorely tried the patience of those who have followed it from its earliest chapters. But attend to it a while longer, if it pleases you, for this volume is the last, and often the last things are best.

Harry Potter: A History of Magic reveals some of the hidden stories behind real-world magic and explores some of J.K. Rowling's magical inventions alongside their folkloric, cultural and historical forebears.

Great Harry Potter companion
Reviewed: 11-08-18
A very interesting companion to the Harry Potter novels. The narration was fine but a lot of the audio interviews and even transition music was NOT recorded well and is very grainy, scratchy, and distorted. The production quality is not what I would expect from something with Harry Potter in the title. Zero excuse for terrible audio in an audiobook.

Amazing performance of a sci-fi classic
Reviewed: 08-06-18
Dune stands tall amongst the myriad of science fiction novels spanning the literary hundred years. Frank Herbert wrote a masterpiece in Dune. The performance by the cast excellently matches Herbert's masterpiece. The nuances in character voices contrasted by narration provide for a rich listening experience. A must listen for all sci-fi fans.

Story
Can an evangelical theologian and his gay son overcome the differences in belief that threaten to destroy their relationship? For Brad and Drew Harper, that question wasn't theoretical - and neither was the resounding "yes" they found after years of struggle. Writing to each other with compassion, grit, and humor, Brad and Drew take us on their journey as parent and child - from the churches of Middle America to the penthouses of New York's party scenes, from a pastor's-kid childhood and painful conversion therapy to the hard-won victories of their adult relationship.

A very well written story and a superb performance by the cast. I think the first time threw took only three days. My only complaint is that the coming to America parts interrupt the flow of the narrative but it is a very minor complaint.

Liz Murray was born to loving but drug-addicted parents in the Bronx. At age 15, Liz found herself on the streets when her family finally unraveled. She learned to scrape by, foraging for food and riding subways all night to have a warm place to sleep. Then, when Liz's mother died of AIDS, she decided to take control of her own destiny.
