Story
Although Matthew may not be the first written Gospel, like Isaiah it is positioned first in its sequence of four Gospels. Opening with a 42-generation genealogy, Matthew reminds us of the linear nature of God’s plan, and Matthew forms a link—a swinging door—between the Old and New Testaments. Matthew is a Jew writing for a Jewish audience, and his Gospel provides our first perspective on the birth and public ministry of Jesus Christ. Join Logos Bible Study’s Dr. Bill Creasy as he leads us through this dazzling work.

Adds incredible context to the Bible
Reviewed: 03-28-21
I really enjoy these talks by Dr. Bill Creasy. There is so much social and historical context that I simply don't have access to when I sit down with only my Bible. Some parts are opinion and anecdote, but those add important dimension as well! can't wait to listen to more.

Story
Professor Chandra is an internationally renowned economist, divorced father of three (quite frankly baffling) children, recent victim of a bicycle hit-and-run - but so much more than the sum of his parts. In the moments after the accident, Professor Chandra doesn’t see his life flash before his eyes but his life’s work. He’s just narrowly missed the Nobel Prize (again), and even though he knows he should get straight back to his pie charts, his doctor has other ideas. All this work. All this success. All this stress. It’s killing him.

I enjoyed the book overall. The narrator was extraordinary though, really bringing each character to life.

Story
A New England inn seems like the picture-perfect place to spend the holidays. But when a snowstorm shuts the roads and keeps them all inside, the guests find themselves worrying that this Christmas may not be exactly what they dreamed. As the characters’ stories intertwine, they start to find hope where they thought it had been lost. With faith, and a little bit of Christmas magic, the inn - and its inhabitants - might just make it through the holidays after all.

A little lukewarm
Reviewed: 12-24-20
A little too predictable, which would have been fine with me if the characters were more engaging. The story details were focused on the environment more than the characters, so it felt a little like a bunch of strangers you don't care about, then about the time you are interested in what happens to them... it's over.
