Kind of disappointed Max... Regurgitation
Reviewed: 09-02-20
Seems like the past few Max Lucado audio books I've purchased have had regurgitations in content. Especially about Grace. I'm kind of disappointed Max. I love your books... have quite a few of them... but lately it seems like the stories are word for word the same. I know you can do better. Please come up with only new content in each audio book or book. Thanks in advance...

The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

Unbelievable Story... Glad to Listen to the End...
Reviewed: 03-08-20
Not going to lie... it was rough to listen to his beginnings. The abuse by his father, the racism, the poverty, the struggle. His story reads like an unbelievable, arrogant, super human tale. His story is all over the Internet though and if it weren't true I'm sure his peers would have called him out. I am glad I listened all the way through. The last few chapters were the most inspirational. We all possess much of the same... we just don't access it most of the time. I know from personal experience that we can and do push through even the hardest, most painful struggles. We just don't train for it. Thank you for sharing your story David and good luck to you in the future...

Interesting story... sad and uplifting...

Wasn't sure what to expect. Saw that he was an Indiana native and thought why not. Interesting story... sad at first but uplifting to the end. Off and on I feel God's presence in my life but I have never felt like I had good communication with him to lead me. I pray on my way to and from work sometimes but it always seems like a one way conversation. I even joke and ask him to sit beside me in the passenger seat but try not to scare me in doing so. I know He hears me... I just don't know that I always hear Him. I ask Him to make His direction a bit more obvious since I am only human. From one Indiana (Walkerton area) native to another, thank you for the inspiration Jeremy...

Really, tell me something I didn't know. I guess this was too basic for my tastes. I was expecting more... and not just all the bullet points that were provided like mention of copywrite, accounting, other creative services... Those are pretty much given about just about all business. I was expecting stories and advice about finding the right niche, connecting with an audience, working art fairs or something like that. I kept hitting the fast forward button...

Story
Scott Adams was one of the earliest public figures to predict Donald Trump’s election. The mainstream media regarded Trump as a lucky clown, but Adams - best known as “the guy who created Dilbert” - recognized a level of persuasion you only see once in a generation. We’re hardwired to respond to emotion, not reason, and Trump knew exactly which emotional buttons to push. The point isn’t whether Trump was right or wrong, good or bad. Adams goes beyond politics to look at persuasion tools that can work in any setting - the same ones Adams saw in Steve Jobs.

Story
Think of The War of Art as tough love...for yourself. Since 2002, The War of Art has inspired people around the world to defeat "resistance"; to recognize and knock down dream-blocking barriers and to silence the naysayers within us. Resistance kicks everyone's butt, and the desire to defeat it is equally as universal. The War of Art identifies the enemy that every one of us must face, outlines a battle plan to conquer this internal foe, then pinpoints just how to achieve the greatest success.

The concept is interesting but the story isn't as compelling as I'd like to hear. It has a hard time keeping my attention. I think he gets wrapped up in large words and his theatrics more than the messages themselves. I'm almost done with it right now... maybe the ending contains the good stuff...

Reviewed: 01-03-20
It isn't real in depth but it gives you enough information to motivate and inspire. I listened to it rather quickly over the long holiday but will probably listen to it a couple more times just so it all soaks in. I like how he describes the Starving Artist vs the Thriving Artist. I've been a commercial artist all my life and despise a lot of it but it pays the bills and it is art in its own way. It affords me the money to purchase art supplies and hardware/software to draw/paint the things that I'm passionate about. So, if you feel like you're in a rut, give this audio book a listen...

She makes it sound so easy. It is. And it isn't. But it is. For me, I am going to start the New Year with her concepts and tackle weight loss, procrastination and productivity. Each is a daily struggle. I will just remind myself "5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Go!" each time and begin to transform my life in 2020. She believes in this and backs it up with science and psychology. I thought it was pretty good advice and would recommend it to others. Small effort for big results if it works for you...
