It got a little repetitive and the main female character drove me crazy but it ended perfectly which made me love the story.

Story
Tom Felton’s adolescence was anything but ordinary. His early rise to fame in beloved films like The Borrowers catapulted him into the limelight, but nothing could prepare him for what was to come after he landed the iconic role of the Draco Malfoy, the bleached blonde villain of the Harry Potter movies. For the next ten years, he was at the center of a huge pop culture phenomenon and yet, in between filming, he would go back to being a normal teenager trying to fit into a normal school. Speaking with great candor and his signature humor, Tom shares his experience.

Story
Mi-ja and Young-sook, two girls living on the Korean island of Jeju, are best friends who come from very different backgrounds. When they are old enough, they begin working in the sea with their village’s all-female diving collective, led by Young-sook’s mother. As the girls take up their positions as baby divers, they know they are beginning a life of excitement and responsibility but also danger. This beautiful, thoughtful novel illuminates a world turned upside down, one where the women are in charge, engaging in dangerous, physical work, and the men take care of the children.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. At first it seemed to go very slow to me but as the story developed I was completely taken in by it. The hard work of the women, the deaths, the marriages, the war, the fear, the misery, the friendship, the love, the hate, the sorrow, the despair and then the forgiveness.

I first read both of Rachel’s books and this one was powerful and really motivated me to continue on this path of self development. I’m going to be honest here and say how I was one of those people that avoided the self help aisle in the book store and now I’m 100% on board!
Dave made it feel like he was just a distant friend talking and truly made you feel like you can do anything as long as you get out if your own dang way!

Love love LOVED THIS BOOK!

I picked this book up and I couldn’t put it down. I went between the book and the audio version and I loved the audio version of this book where I just wanted to listen to it.
I know that our paths aren’t the same but I saw many similarities between her and I.
Overall this book really pumped me up. Especially making a promise to your friend’s you wouldn’t want to let them down so why would you let yourself down?
This is a must read!

Story
On the morning of April 29, 1986, a fire alarm sounded in the Los Angeles Public Library. As the moments passed, the patrons and staff who had cleared out of the building realized this was not the usual false alarm. As one fireman recounted later, “Once that first stack got going, it was good-bye, Charlie.” The fire was disastrous: It reached 2,000 degrees and burned for more than seven hours. By the time it was extinguished, it had consumed 400,000 books and damaged 700,000 more.

I didn’t know much about the 1986 fire and it was really interesting to learn all about how the library came to be. Next time I’m in town I will be making a stop to the library to see this building myself.
