Story
Have you ever wondered "Why did I do that?" or "Why can't I just control my behavior?" Others may judge our reactions and think, "What's wrong with that person?" When questioning our emotions, it's easy to place the blame on ourselves; holding ourselves and those around us to an impossible standard. It's time we started asking a different question. Through deeply personal conversations, Oprah Winfrey and renowned brain and trauma expert Dr. Bruce Perry offer a groundbreaking and profound shift from asking “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”

I appreciate it learning more about what our brains do learning. This has taught me to be tolerant with so many people, and to be less judgmental also to ask the right questions and give my self time to process correctly.

Story
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

Love the authors detail!

I love the detail the author puts into the story. He makes you feel like you are there. Like you can smell, hear, see and breathe what’s happening! Can’t wait to read more books or listen to more books from him. I also am young enough that I didn’t know the outcome of the story, the book kept me on edge the entire time and loved it!!
