Story
When Emily Lane isn’t busy running her charming Christmas-themed store, “Under the Mistletoe”, located in the quaint tourist town of Fletcher’s Grove, she finds herself compelled to investigate not so quaint local murders. On the surface, Emily is a perfectly lovely, good-natured puzzle-solver and mystery lover. But she is hiding a secret past from everyone in town. And when Emily begins her personal investigations, Detective-Constable Sam Wilner, a smart and attractive cop—with a crush on Emily that is not completely unrequited—begins to wonder if there’s more to Emily than meets the eye.

Maybe I liked the first stories a teeny bit better but it’s still such a fun quick listen and we get a bit of character development, yay! I’m a sucker for a holiday themed listen but that’s also bad because now I’m guessing I have to wait a year. I just discovered this so I got to listen to both back to back which was so enjoyable!

The narrators were great! The story is ok, it’s your usual alpha male mafia boss meets innocent girl and only she can fix him. Why? Nobody knows because she’s as bland as steamed broccoli. People saying it’s dark haven’t read DARK dark. Rating the spice 🌶️🌶️ out of 5 since I feel like I’ve read the same formula many times before. I’m kind of wanting an actual steamy pirate story so I’ll keep looking.

I liked this story, I mean it’s the same story over and over but somehow it still sucks you in! Somehow I kinda wish there’d be a little novella about Trick‘s and Markus‘s little adventures haha 🔥 I’d also wish that one couple would be open to maybe add a third… as always narration is on point.

I liked the first two but it was quite a long drawn out story and not very satisfying at the end tbh. Overall the whole series is just ok, it’s a fun listen for sure. Spicy although that also looses a bit of steam as it gets repetitive. I have a feeling book 3 and 4 should’ve just been one.
