Story
An inside look of a former deejay turned promotion man, Tom Petty and Me chronicles the career-changing moments in the life of Jon Scott. Through many serendipitous moments, Jon appeared at the right time to help get Tom's first album played on the radio, and that changed the professional lives of both men.

I liked the truth and simplicity of this story, and the tenacity of the author. It uncovered little known aspects of the success for Tom Petty.

Story
The seed of this book started with a hug. But at the time of that hug. I didn't realize my life would change forever. She gently pulled me in and whispered these two words, "I'm done." I was completely thrown off guard. I ask her what she meant. What do you mean you're done - done with what? She quietly whispered in my ear, I'm done with us. My heart sank, and a numbness of emotions consumed every cell in my body.

Bravery and courage.

Anytime someone comes clean about their personal daemons with insight I am impressed by their ability to stand up without shame. It’s an incredibly brave and noble time stamp to share intimate details with the public world.
Blake is able to weave this courage into a compelling narrative where as a reader/listener one surfs, snowboards, rides a bike, a motorcycle and all on an effortless journey into a soul.
Do yourself a favor and listen to the author’s animated voice as he tells his fictional life story focusing on a failed marriage, childhood traumas, insecurities and then discovery — near enlightenment from the sound of it.
Highly recommend. Enjoyed with sadness and joy, just like life.
