Story
People vs. Donald Trump is a fascinating inside account of the attempt to prosecute former president Donald Trump, written by one of the lawyers who worked on the case and resigned in protest when Manhattan’s district attorney refused to act.

I am Surprised I Made it through the Book

As a former prosecutor and defense attorney, I expected a better presentation of the facts. Redundant and repetitive in parts. Perhaps if someone else had read the book it would have been a better listen.

Mother and warrior. Scholar and spy. Rebel and hero. Set in a magical world of terror and wonder, this novel is a deeply felt epic of courage and war, in which the fates of these characters intertwine - and where ordinary people become heroes, and their lives become legend.

Not as Captivating as the Iron Druid Series.
Reviewed: 11-03-17
BUY THE BOOK, NOT THE AUDIO. The story is not as engaging as the Iron Druid series, but maybe my feelings are the result of the worst female reader I have ever had the misfortune of listening to on an audiobook. Every character she represents, and there are many, sounds the same with the same Slavik/Russian accent. The reader continually mumbles and drops her sentences. I even turned the treble up and bass completely off, yet I still had a hard time hearing and understanding what she was saying. I will never purchase another audiobook that she narrates. The male reader is excellent. The book itself was very slow going and confusing at times. I looked forward to this book's release but I expected a lot more out of the author after reading all of his previous books.

Story
Growing up with telepathic abilities, Sookie Stackhouse realized early on there were things she'd rather not know. And now that she's an adult, she also realizes that some things that she knows about, she'd rather not see—like Eric Northman feeding off another woman. A younger one. There's a thing or two she'd like to say about that, but she has to keep quiet—Felipe de Castro, the Vampire King of Louisiana (and Arkansas and Nevada), is in town.

Becoming a Tired Series
Reviewed: 03-05-13
Would you try another book from Charlaine Harris and/or Johanna Parker?
Yes, but I don't know if I would change my mind if the book was a Sookie book.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Very dull. I felt like the author was just over the story and wanted it to end.
What about Johanna Parker’s performance did you like?
She captures the essence of Sookie.
Was Deadlocked worth the listening time?
I'm glad I listened to it rather than read it as I would have put the book down less than halfway through the novel.
Any additional comments?
It's all the same. There is very little direction for the author to go; the plot is repetitious and I get the feeling if this isn't the last book, there aren't too many more in the future. I don't know that I will purchase or read another Sookie Stackhouse novel. I've loved them all except this one which I really wanted to end sooner rather than later.
