Story
"I delivered twenty babies in the summer of 1977. I was hardly more than a baby myself, just turned 24 and starting my third year of medical school." So began Mark Sloan's three-decades-long exploration of the wonders and oddities of human childbirth. Pediatrician, husband, and father, the author has attended nearly 3000 births since that long-ago summer, encountering everything from routine deliveries to tense labor-room dramas.

Great Book - Heavy on the History
Reviewed: 03-16-17
This was probably the ninth or 10th book I read while preparing for our first child, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, if you're only going to read one book to prep this probably isn't the one. With all of the specifics I have already encountered in my studies, a historical perspective on childbirth was welcome. It's not that the author doesn't do a superb job of presenting researched-backed, practical information, but it's sprinkled throughout the book, with most coming toward the end.
The parts of the book I enjoyed most as an expectant father were the evolving perspective of the fathers role in childbirth, and the proven benefits of having a female birth coach or doula present for the birth.
Ultimately, I highly recommend this book. However, if you are under the gun for immediately applicable information, this might not be the one for you. The Expectant Father is great starter book for first time dads. Cheers, parents!

Phenomenal motivational book with actionable content every 30 seconds. It's quintessential GaryVee, and that's what makes it great. I have seen some complaints that portions of the content are recycled from free content. Perhaps, but even if this was solely aggregated content, it's worth every penny. If you are on the fence, go for it. You won't regret it. In my life and for my money right now it's: Tom Bilyeu, Tony Robbins, and GaryVee. These guys are brilliant and they absolutely care about making those around them better than if they'd never crossed paths. Now, go out there and get after it.

If you live with clutter this book is for you.

This is not the best or most exciting book I have read recently. However, this book did exactly what I needed it to do. it helped me put my house in order for the first time in my life. I had identified areas of my life that needed improvement, One of the most important on the list was clutter. This book provides actionable advice for almost any situation. One aspect I found particularly helpful, was her ability to pinpoint the emotional reasons that led to my cluttered lifestyle. I had barely finished 50% of the book when I had to put it down and get to work. If you live with clutter this book is for you.
