Love her writing, she has a great sense of detail for suspense, but unlike some of her other books, this one has an amazing twist that I never saw coming! Those are the best books of all! Bravo, Frieda! Bravo!

Story
In 1819 John Adams came across a stunning story in his hometown Essex Register that he breathlessly described to his political frenemy Thomas Jefferson as “one of the greatest curiosities and one of the deepest mysteries that ever occurred to me…entitled the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence. The genuine sense of America at that moment was never so well expressed before, nor since.”

Best history book I ever read

Think National Treasure but it’s real. It is thr riveting true story of first Declaration of Independence. But it is also a lot more. Conflict, Conspiracy, Chaos and the great mystery of Americas founding all wrapped in one epic tale that the reader will not soon forget. Thomas Jefferson was a hypocritical plagiarist and the Meck Deckers were America’s true patriotic authors of our first Declaration of Independence. Long live May 20,1775 and long live the Meck Deck 😎

Heartbreaking and Heartwarming

Exquisitely written in beautiful prose, this memoir captures the hearts of all who read/ listen.
I found myself mourning her late husband, Sam with every passage while simultaneously cheering on Charlotte and her 4 kids (and Tim).
This book is written in such a heartbreaking and heartfelt manner that I found myself crying and laughing all within a 10 minute period.
The courage it took to process these feelings and put them into words, is unimaginable. However, Charlotte Maya , a widow, a mother, a wife, and a beautifully articulate and poetic writer, did so with grace, and a full heart.

I applaud her and admire her.
I am so grateful for her work.
This memoir is a masterpiece

Story
Daisy is a girl coming of age in LA in the late '60s, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock and roll she loves most. By the time she’s 20, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things. Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne.

Fabulous Story! Horrible Narrator!
Reviewed: 05-22-21
I was captivated within the first few pages and held hostage till the end by this brilliantly crafted narrative. The characters were rich and relatable, the story had a consistent and exciting pace that brought us to a frenzied crescendo with a beautifully twisted ending giving the reader and immense sense of satisfaction. Brava, Michele! Brava!
The narrator, did a good job of sharing her energy with her listeners. However, she focused on “acting” instead of narrating which ultimately negatively impacted my overall enjoyment of the story. Ultimately, what I disliked the most, was the narrator’s lack of effort and/or ability to pronounce any of the Spanish. As a Spanish speaker, it was a huge turn off to me.
Onward and upward! I can’t wait to read another one of Michele’s juicy tales. Kudos!

Story
Amber Patterson is fed up. She's tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more - a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted. To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne - a socialite and philanthropist - and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale. Amber's envy could eat her alive...if she didn't have a plan.

Good Story... Horrid Narration
Reviewed: 10-12-19
The book itself was not bad. Good storyline with a nice twist. A little predictable, but nicely done overall. The narrator in the first part of the book, however, was so terribly atrocious that I had to buy the paperback and give up the audible. Read it for a guilty pleasure, but do not listen to this book, you will hate it.
