Beautifully Written

Although it was sort of predictable in how things would play out, it was written so beautifully that it kept me engaged ready to see how it will actually play out. The narration of this book was well done. This is an author new to me but I am looking forward to reading more of her work.

Story
Experience a bold take on this classic autobiography as it’s performed by Oscar-nominated Laurence Fishburne. In this searing classic autobiography, originally published in 1965, Malcolm X, the Muslim leader, firebrand, and Black empowerment activist, tells the extraordinary story of his life and the growth of the Human Rights movement. His fascinating perspective on the lies and limitations of the American dream and the inherent racism in a society that denies its non-White citizens the opportunity to dream, gives extraordinary insight into the most urgent issues of our own time.

This book is a great and sheds a lot of unknown light onto the life of Malcolm X. I think everyone, especially every black person, should read this. And the narration by Laurence Fishburne was phenomenal.

Stumbled across this book in search of more AA romance novels to add to the library. I loved this story from beginning to end. I felt like I was watching the whole story play out vs listening to it. It was very well written and the narrators did an amazing job portraying the characters.

Story
For months I stood by, an understudy waiting in the wings, preparing for my time to shine. I never imagined he would watch in the audience that night. Canon Holt. Famous film director. Fascinating. Talented. Fine. Before I could catch my breath, everything changed. I went from backstage Broadway to centerstage Hollywood. From being unknown to my name, Neevah Saint, on everyone’s lips. Canon casts me in a star-studded Harlem Renaissance biopic, catapulting me into another stratosphere. But stars shine brightest in the dead of night.
