Story
Thirty years after a tragic accident shut down production of the classic children’s program Mister Magic, the five surviving cast members have done their best to move on. But just as generations of cultishly devoted fans still cling to the lessons they learned from the show, the cast, known as the Circle of Friends, have spent their lives searching for the happiness they felt while they were on it. The friendship. The feeling of belonging. And the protection of Mister Magic.

HS teachers make you class read this!
Reviewed: 04-15-24
Growing up I had Catholic on my fathers side Christian on my mothers side. Today I do not practice any religion. I personally think children should not automatically have to practice what their parents do, Parents should encourage their children to check out other religions before settling. This book is the perfect book for those teens with closed minded parents. As a mom to a 14 year old who know the principles too well, is a class clown and a huge jock goes to church every Sunday with a family member. Then theres my 19 year old who wont say SH*T for 100 bucks and has never been in trouble and cant stuck up for herself had a classmate try to shove christianity down her throat every lunch period for 2 years thinks most religions are kinda culty. My children were always encouraged to choose their own paths. I strongly believe HS teachers should have their students read this book. Its a fun fiction story for the kids that dont need it, and will be so much more for the kids that desperately need it.
To the Author. You should be very proud of yourself for having the courage to write this book. Just know you will of helped many teens/ young adults with that courage.

My whole life Iv read mystery, crime, and real life stories. I can honestly say I did not know about this tragedy. The author did a great job telling Jays story fully and in detail. After listening I started to research ( of course I needed to know more), but the author covered everything. The story in herself is awful, sad, and heartbreaking.

Squatter trigger warning.
Reviewed: 07-14-23
For those who’ve been victims of squatters/ freeloader this will bring back up that trauma. In 2023 this a real issue , probably do to the pandemic. About 2 years ago my mothers sick sister (scary Sherry) came to live with us ( we live in a duplex with access to each others living spaces) about 1 year 65 year old scary flipped a switch, cussing my mother out in front of her grandchildren in our home. Our safe place was no longer safe, we had cameras in every room, and we lived by the buddy system. My children 10 and 16 were so terrified of their 65 years old great aunt they slept with me for 6 months. We couldn’t afford to move, and scary had all the legal rights. If someone spends the night at your house for 1 night and brings a tooth brush they can legally live there, the only way to get them out is civil court and thousands of dollars. If you are selling a home that is empty the crack head living under a bridge can break in and live there and you can’t kick them out, the cops won’t arrest them for breaking and entering. This book is not an exaggeration this is a real life issue and a failure in our laws. Home owners, landlords , and tenants have no rights when it comes to freeloaders. This book is very educational.

Roger Stringer grew up in rural Mississippi, hunting and eating everything from deer to rabbits. When he had two sons, Zac and Justin, he gave them guns and took them to the woods as well. Then one day when the boys were home alone, he got a call from Zac that Justin had been shot. What follows is an intimate and gripping memoir about the shooting’s aftermath. The story moves between the perspectives of Roger and Zac as they take us through their journey of betrayal, redemption, and ultimately confrontation with a company that had kept its corruption a secret for decades.

Rodger and Zack you both did a great job telling your truth. The emotion behind your life story made this book so much more then it already was. I will recommend this book all of my 2A family, friends , and acquaintances. At the very least they will be made aware of the defect. Thank you both for speaking out.
ps I could listen to both of you talk all day, maybe a career in narration could be in your futures?!?!
I also wanted to write a review so the review written 7 hours before mine was pushed down a little. Maybe they were having a night cap, or don’t read titles and book details. Reviews should be facts, and honest.

Not only is this book hilarious ( of course it is KEVIN HART IS 1 of the most entertaining comedians) but it’s heart warming, and educational. Hearing this story told in Kevin’s own voice made this book so much more. Had a read it myself I still would of loved it but it wouldn’t of had the same affect. Iv recommended this book to so many people a lot have never listened to an audiobook, and some “ don’t do book”. ALL LOVED THE BOOK ALSO. I also forced my daughter and her friends to listen ( teen girls ) they also loved it. It doesn’t matter what genre you are into or your age this book is for you. I promise you will not regret the time and money spent on this book.

If your gene is nonfiction crime/ detective prior to true crime “ being in style” this book is for you. You will appreciate the authors putting together 24 hours worth of fascinating Cases for the price of 1 book or a credit. If you are a millennial groupie you may want to pass! FYI this is REAL life , REAL people survived THIS and or real life Families lived through this if you can’t handle simply hearing their real life story you should probably stop listening to nonfiction books now. To even try and critique someone’s REAL LIFE STORY is disgusting and YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED.

I want to comment on the swearing, kids from teens to mid 20’s talk like this in real life. My nephew and his girl talk just like this because they are uneducated with little respect. Which is what the author was trying to conveying. I’m in my 30s, and would not swear in front of my parents today. But that is how I was raised. My 18 year old would not swear if paid 100 bucks, were my 12 year old would give me 100 bucks if I allowed him to say shit 1 time. This language no longer holds the same meaning it did 20-30-50 years ago. I’m not bothered by it, but I also understand why the author used so much. I honestly did not think it was excessive.

The fact that uneducated, ignorant people were offended by this story they are the reason this story was written. It’s 2022 people life is not a fairytale. Real life is ugly and sometimes terrible and heartbreaking. This story makes domestic violence survivors feel like they are not alone, which is why those who were able to get out should read this it will help to heal their soul. If this story disturbs you then you are part of the problem pull you head out of your ass, and open your eyes.
Not to mention this is the authors naked truth, I can’t imagine how hard it was for her to put this out for the whole world the see. To be distributed by someone’s reality is appalling.
One review said their friend was in a situation like that and she can’t believe she recommended this book to her, that friend deserves a better understanding friend and you should be ashamed of yourself. That review stuck with me throughout this whole book. My heart breaks for that friend. At least she has Colleen Hoover on her side.
