Story
Mia: It was so close, I'd tasted it - the freedom. But the only thing I could taste now was the end. Over the last two years, I’d let all outside forces dictate my life, my feelings, my head. I’d allowed everyone to control what my punishment should be for all my wrong-doings. I’d been tested and learned my lesson. I’d paid my dues and suffered long enough. Because in the end, even the once-upon-a-damned deserved to be happy too.

Best narration I’ve ever heard

Love love loveeeee this trilogy. Beautiful story of trials and tribulation. But the thing that sticks out to me the most was the narration. It literally was Mia and Ollie’s voice and brought this story to life. Can’t recommend enough.

Story
Crystal learned long ago that love brings only pain. Feeling nothing at all is far better than being hurt again. She guards her wounded heart behind a hard exterior and carries within her a deep mistrust of men, who, in her experience, have only ever used and taken. Then Gabriel Dalton walks into her life. Despite the terrible darkness of his past, there's an undeniable goodness in him. And even though she knows the cost, Crystal finds herself drawn to Gabriel.

Another 5 star read from Mia Sheridan

I have read Archer’s Voice and Savage by Mia and loved both so I knew there was some high expectations going into it….and of course this was a home run for me. She never fails to bring me to my knees with tears of sadness and tears of joy. I love the way she tells a story. I love the way she makes you fall in love with the characters.
Also, Charlotte North is one of my favorite narrators ever. Her voice inflections always capture the moment and emotion so perfectly. I have never heard of the male narrator until now and he blew me away with the emotions in his reading. I really enjoyed his narration. I did have a hard time with his voice at times as he didn’t sound anything like how I feel Gabe should have sounded, but I was still super impressed.
This is a beautiful story, stop reading the reviews and get started on it already:)

Story
Alex Volkov is a devil blessed with the face of an angel and cursed with a past he can't escape. Driven by a tragedy that has haunted him for most of his life, his ruthless pursuits for success and vengeance leave little room for matters of the heart. But when he's forced to look after his best friend's sister, he starts to feel something in his chest. Ava Chen is a free spirit trapped by nightmares of a childhood she can't remember. But despite her past, she's never stopped seeing the beauty in the world . . . including the heart beneath the icy exterior of a man she shouldn't want.

Love the story but…

Read the book last year, loved it. Decided to do a re-read on here and I am just super disappointed in the narration. The character’s are supposed to be 22-27 and the narrators voice’s sounded way too mature/old for them. I wanted to love this, but the narration killed it for me. :(
