Story
Well-meaning people have trained our dream right out of us. Who have been the naysayers in your life? You may have had many, but the worst critic can be the one in our own head. You may doubt yourself, thinking, “I’m not good enough” or “As soon as I…, then I’ll start on my dream.” No! Enough is enough. It’s time. Your time. If you are serious about what you want to achieve—then this book is for you. If you want a simple, proven strategy—then this book is for you. If you enjoy doses of inspiration along the way—then this book is for you.

Simple Straightforward Success Plan
Reviewed: 08-10-22
I listened to this twice on a road trip. Darren's message is fairly simple- work for a least 17 minutes towards your dream, and you will make progress! As a reader of many self development books- it didn't originally feel profound, and yet prehaps because of the simplicity I am more likely to retain and apply the wisdom. You may know the truth of this wisdom before reading or listening to the book- but somehow the power of his storytelling makes you want to apply yourself towards your dream and take action. I will join the 77 day challenge- and I believe doing so will collapse time- and close the gap between me and my dream. And if a book inspires you to actually do something- well then it's worth one credit!

Story
England, late 1547. King Henry VIII is dead. His 14-year-old daughter Elizabeth is living with the king's widow, Catherine Parr, and her new husband, Thomas Seymour. Seymour is the brother of Henry VIII's third wife, the late Jane Seymour, who was the mother to the now-ailing boy king. Ambitious and dangerous, Seymour begins an overt flirtation with Elizabeth that ends with Catherine sending her away. When Catherine dies a year later and Seymour is arrested for treason soon after, a scandal explodes.

The ambition of Thomas Seymour
Reviewed: 11-17-21
I agree with a previous reviewer- the title is misleading; I think "the ambition of Thomas Seymour" would have been a more appropriate title.
However the story was well told, and albeit interesting- even if Elizabeth was only a minor character.

What an absolutely riveting tale! It was awe inspiring. I feel as if listening to how the main character claimed her power amidst circumstances out of her control, has helped me in a season of uncertainty see how I too can navigate turbulent waters.

Practical tools for making deep genuine friends
Reviewed: 09-04-20
A few years ago- I vividly remember feeling dissatisfied with the amount of genuine girl friends I had. Now, I feel like I almost have more than I can manage. This good gave me the tools to take strangers that I just met and turn them into the closest of friends. The amount of women that have thanked me for taking the initiative and creating the opportunity for our circle to become a circle is so gratifying. This is a book I have listened to time and time again as I know there is still more wisdom I can reap. But like all books - it’s only amazing if you take action on her suggestions.
