Story
When mystery author D. B. Ziegler is late delivering her book, Abi Schore steps in to help. Surely she can give her favorite author moral support over the holiday break and get the manuscript to her boss at Tea & Sympathy Publishing in time for the new year. When Abi shows up on Ms. Ziegler’s doorstep bearing holiday treats, she’s met by the author’s handsome grandson Dov, who reveals a startling plot twist. His grandmother isn’t able to finish the book and Dov promised he’d complete it so fans won’t be disappointed—a task that’s harder than he ever imagined.

I enjoyed coming back to Heaven Cove
Reviewed: 11-12-24
It was a good story with interesting characters. I like how each Heaven’s Cove story can stand alone all the while incorporating old friends. While some of the character’s thought processes and behavior seemed a little weak and unreasonable others seemed so true to human nature it made me wince with recognition.
Glad Audible introduced me to this author and series by including one with my membership.

As always this author tells an engaging story. I’ve enjoyed all 10 of the O’Brien family saga novels. I think it was perfect timing in the series to step back in history to tell a prologue tale. Unfortunately, as always, I bristle at this performers whispery “vocal fry” but the stories keep bringing me back.

I really enjoyed Brittany Presley’s performance. Each character was distinct and authentic. There were some real continuity issues which I find really annoying however. Shame on Carolyn Browns editor, isn’t that what they’re supposed to catch? Overall it was an easy summer listen to do chores by but not enough heft for a road trip.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so completely sucked in by a series of novels. Stacey Reynolds keeps each story so fresh with new subject matter to immerse yourself in all the while keeping the characters ever grounded within this big loving and traditional family. Each story and primary character is so different from the last but still maintained within the orbit of the wonderfully complex O’Brien clan. I look forward to more as it never gets dull.

It’s a true story!
Reviewed: 02-01-23
I didn’t realize it was a true story when I downloaded it. Based on the exposition I quickly figured it out. It’s hard to tell a true story and keep it entertaining but this author has done that. With so many of us casually interested in genealogy these days this story was quite an adventure. I definitely recommend it.
