Covers all that’s important to know about conscious creation
Reviewed: 09-15-24
Well organized, upbeat and engaging Law of Attraction/ Conscious Manifestation primer. If you listened to only this compilation, you’d be introduced to every important to understand concept. And if you follow the author’s guidance, you’ll be feeling good quickly through the awareness creating exercises.
It also works well as a refresher for anyone who is already living these truths and wants to fine tune their daily experience of surfing high frequencies. Highly usable and highly enjoyable!

Story
Women can be heroes. When twenty-year-old nursing student Frances “Frankie” McGrath hears these words, it is a revelation. Raised in the sun-drenched, idyllic world of Southern California and sheltered by her conservative parents, she has always prided herself on doing the right thing. But in 1965, the world is changing, and she suddenly dares to imagine a different future for herself. When her brother ships out to serve in Vietnam, she joins the Army Nurse Corps and follows his path.

What an incredible story

I am bowled over by this book. I listened to it over just a few days - while cooking, running, cleaning and late into the night losing precious sleep. That alone tells you how incredibly engaging I found it.
It’s a story that needs to be heard- the women who served in the Vietnam War deserve to be celebrated.
As far as performance- Julia Whalen is an outstanding narrator- one of my favorites. And she gave her usual superb performance in The Women.
Well worth an audible credit 😊

Story
A true musical polymath, Beck shifts between and blends genres and generations with a preternatural ease—one foot in the secret history of American music and the other moving toward the future. Consistently brushed off by industry gatekeepers on both coasts, Beck perseveres—ultimately building a bespoke audience of millions who share his borderless musical vision. In Dear Life, Beck proves that the most powerful art is made by those who are brave enough to be fully themselves.

An honor and a pleasure
Reviewed: 10-25-22
Beck’s music has captivated me for decades, no matter the evolving style. The early stuff was so sexy and rich. And later he only got more interesting. This peek into his process and early life was an honor to experience as he seems very private. And the songs he chose to include didn’t disappoint either.
The narration was perfect- personal, intimate, comfortable. Like listening to a friend around a campfire.
Small aside- I was quite surprised by his speaking voice- deep, sexy, such a pleasure to listen to. Great use of my audible credit all the way around!

Story
Beloved author Elizabeth Gilbert returns to fiction with a unique love story set in the New York City theater world during the 1940s. Told from the perspective of an older woman as she looks back on her youth with both pleasure and regret (but mostly pleasure), City of Girls explores themes of female sexuality and promiscuity, as well as the idiosyncrasies of true love. In 1940, nineteen-year-old Vivian Morris has just been kicked out of Vassar College, owing to her lackluster freshman-year performance.

Story
At the end of the Second World War, Cyril Conroy combines luck and a single canny investment to begin an enormous real estate empire, propelling his family from poverty to enormous wealth. His first order of business is to buy the Dutch House, a lavish estate in the suburbs outside of Philadelphia. Meant as a surprise for his wife, the house sets in motion the undoing of everyone he loves. The story is told by Cyril’s son Danny, as he and his older sister, the brilliantly acerbic and self-assured Maeve, are exiled from the house where they grew up by their stepmother.

I expected more...

This could have been a truly great story- instead it was just ok. It read like real life- slow, meandering and with no actual climax. I appreciate the author’s efforts, but not one moment of “Nice, I think that might lead somewhere” ever panned out. Whatever...
