Story
Obi-Wan Kenobi has not been apprenticed long to Qui-Gon Jinn, and he is chafing at Qui-Gon's training style: all meditation, no action. Obi-Wan yearns to prove himself on a mission, but when he and Qui-Gon are finally set to leave on an assignment, Qui-Gon is nowhere to be found. Angered by his master's abandonment, Obi-Wan sets out on the mission alone, determined to prove himself. On a mysterious planet he encounters a pack of feral, Force-wielding teens who seem to be the planet's only inhabitants.

This just leaves out way too much. The narrator does a good enough job. Go pick up overlord instead. You’ll be far happier for your spent credit.

If you came for your favorite beer can & mine…forget about it. If you love minor characters & world building then this book is for you! The only reason I can figure this book is so highly rated is people misclicking the stars or saying the overall rating should be an average of the performance & story. You’ve been warned.

This book is full of great information on how to honor your ancestors! The reader is very soft-spoken as if she's trying to guide you through a meditation, so it's hard to listen to if you're sleepy due to her relaxing voice!

Yawn Wars
Reviewed: 12-15-19
This is without a doubt, the most boring Star Wars story I’ve encountered. For that matter it is simply one of the most boring books I’ve read. To be clear, the voice acting was good & did what was possible to put life into the characters but they are characters that I couldn’t care less about including max kanata. Which to be fair to the writer, wasn’t their creation. Go watch rogue one.

Some Humanity Required
Reviewed: 10-25-19
The writer does not appear to have a strong grasp of how people act & react in certain situations. I’ve read/listened to books where I did not agree with a characters choice and usually it proves to push the narrative and that’s something a reader just has to accept. But there are parts in here that I can’t rationalize. The main char will act contrary to typical human responses in a way that could only be understood by suggesting a mental disorder. It is so distracting I have to pause the book for minutes at a time because I’m to distracted by the nonsensical responses/actions.

While the narrator herself was not bad in her delivery of the material her mispronunciation of prior defined story elements broke my immersion in the story. Similar to when audio doesn’t match up with a video I’m watching, it’s just distracting. That said getting a look at the heiress apparent was entertaining. I look forward to the next book in the MHI series.
