This listen was so eye rolling inducing. Only bought it because it was a 2 for 1 offer.

When Nick Hansen sees the young woman at the grocery store, his heart stops. She is the spitting image of his college girlfriend, Marissa Minor, who died in a campus house fire 20 years earlier. But when Nick tries to speak to her, she acts skittish and rushes off. The next morning the police arrive at Nick's house and show him a photo of the woman from the store. She's been found dead.

Too predictable and slow- major eyeroller

I hung in until the end of the book because I kept wanting it to turn a corner and get better. I should've I ended it much earlier strictly because of the narrator's performance. At the few times when he did change his voice between characters I found it so silly.
I also found the main character Nick extremely doltish and weak...and I felt (like another reviewer said) that I was always 3 steps ahead of him. There were also so many implausible subplots that I lost count at how many times I rolled my eyes.
I guess I just prefer a little meatier mystery/thriller with a more believable story line with stronger characters.
