A loving and optimistic view of current human evolution
Reviewed: 11-13-24
A coherent, and inspiring view of our turbulent times and human history in general.
It also provides very loving and pragmatic spiritual advice for how to navigate these challenging times.

Reevaluating the mess we are in
Reviewed: 06-28-23
As president Eisenhower warned, the military industrial complex nurtured the Cold War into the Endless War.
And along the way, they recruited and embedded our mainstream media.
Because of the media firewall, I almost did not read this book! My friends warned me Kennedy was crazy.
The real problem, as Kennedy reminds us, is that federal agencies that were intended to regulate big business got taken over by special interests.
Our infotainment news media nurture and curate our national challenges into soundbite-conflicts and have been very happy to assign us all to different tribes and info-reality-ghettos.
These reality echo chambers all have one thing in common. They exploit our fears and worries about the current challenges we face.
And we the people, have thus been divided and conquered.
Kennedy is the only significant voice talking honestly about some of our real problems.
The special interests that make a profit from all our squabbling have a big investment in preventing people from hearing his message.
Kennedy may not have all of the answers yet, but at least he is talking honestly about our national and global problems.
He aspires to lead a government that reflects American values, and not just corporate and elite interests. Our government does not have to be dysfunctional, and can be “for the people“.

Story
They didn't start out as environmental warriors. Clair Patterson was a geochemist focused on determining the age of the Earth. Herbert Needleman was a pediatrician treating inner-city children. But in the chemistry lab and the hospital ward, they met a common enemy: lead. It was literally everywhere. Though few people worried about it at the time, lead was also toxic. In Toxic Truth, journalist Lydia Denworth tells the little-known stories of these two men who were among the first to question the wisdom of filling the world with such a harmful metal.

The amazing battle to save us from lead poisoning

The amazing battle to save us from lead poisoning:
For over 50 years in the 20th century, we burned leaded gasoline and slowly poisoned ourselves.
This book documents the heroic struggle that researchers and public health experts had to endure to defeat the rich and well-connected oil and lead interests and lobbyists.
It is now a relevant primer, with crucial lessons we need in order to solve our CO2 challenge.
